Yeah... yeah, that's about what I expected. Interest in ever seeing this movie myself: circling the toilet bowl, on its way down.

(EDIT) Joe's surprised that they're talking about turning nuBusters into a new franchise? Hell, they were already talking about that shit over a year ago. (/EDIT)

The only part of Joe's review that I'd disagree with is his dislike of them killing off Bill Murray quickly and pointlessly.

The thing is, I remember Bill saying long ago when asked about doing a Ghostbusters 3 (Before the video game came out I believe) that he'd LOVE to do a third Ghostbusters movie - if they killed him off in the first 5 minutes.

Which... I guess is what they did here. The -way- they killed him off though is pretty pointless though, and I'll agree with Joe about most everything else. As in, I can believe what he's telling me to be straight up honesty and that I can certainly see the company/director/screenwriters/etc doing what they did purely as cash grab rather than giving a shit about the original source material. As such, I can safely just resume my normal life and continue not giving two fucks about the movie.

(ie: I wasn't really planning on going to see it anyway. Even with the original movies back in the day I waited for them to come out on home video and rented them. I suppose I was more of a fan of the cartoon anyhow.)

I'd almost rather that the original actors had not had cameos in nuBusters at all to begin with, given that they weren't going to be playing the original characters and passing the torch and whatnot. As Doug and Rob Walker said in their own review, they found the cameos to be really distracting and pretty much forcing them to compare nuBusters to the original, better movie, when nuBusters should have tried to be its own thing (but then, being the almost complete rehash of the original Ghostbusters movie that it apparently is anyway is bad enough, even ignoring the cameos).

Anyway, yeah, I agree about the cartoon. I liked both of the original movies well enough, but the cartoon was more my thing, too. Honestly, it was actually my favorite cartoon, in those days, which was basically heresy/sacrilege/whatever, since, apparently, not considering Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to be the God-King of cartoons was tantamount to being a mortal sin in those days. >_>; I mean, I liked Ninja Turtles plenty well enough, too, of course, but the Ninja Turtles never fought and beat fucking Cthulhu, (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5O0qrOkq3BI) so point goes to the Ghostbusters, in my view. ¬_¬
