I downloaded the Kingdom Hearts 2 soundtrack last night. I haven't even finished the game yet, but I thought I'd take a short break to grab the soundtrack. It's pretty awesome.
A few neat tracks, in no particular order (may contain ever so slight spoilers for KH2):
--"Reviving Hollow Bastion" - I was kind of ho-hum about the Hollow Bastion theme from the first game, but for some reason I really like the KH2 version of it.
--"He's a Pirate" - this was, if I recall correctly, one of the main themes from the Pirates of the Caribbean movie.
--"Space Paranoids" - even though I've seen Tron recently, I can't recall if this was actually used in the movie or not. It sounds vaguely familiar though.
--"This is Halloween" - yeah, this was in the first game and there really isn't much difference between it and the new version, but I like them both (although the original from the movie is, of course, the best). My only gripe was that they didn't use a version of "What's This?" for the Christmas Town portion of the game, which I would have thought would have been a no-brainer. Alas they just continued to use "This is Halloween". :/
--"Passion ~opening version~" - the one found in the link up there is the Japanese version. While I liked "Simple and Clean" from KH1 well enough, and preferred "Hikari" more, "Passion" rules.
--"One-Winged Angel" - this will be, like, the fourth or fifth version of this that I have. But c'mon, it's "One-Winged Angel". Not that much different from the KH1 version, though.
--"Under the Sea" - interestingly, the version in the above linked soundtrack is the Japanese version. It was weird enough hearing Haley Joel Osment (if it was him and not a stand-in) singing part of it in game, but hearing it in Japanese is even weirder. :)
--"Dive Into The Heart ~Destati~" and "Fragments of Sorrow" - These two together are mostly the KH2 equivalent of "Dive Into The Heart ~Destati~" from KH1, but still cool to hear the slight differences between the two versions.
