You'd think this should be a good thing, but apparently, it's merely a shitty port of the mobile phone version of the game.

Yeah, I noticed the mobile port portion as well as did the majority of Steam users apparently with it's "Mostly Negative" reception. Even with the mobileness aside apparently it's a pretty lazy port lacking a lot of the options expected in the PC market.

I had zero interest in buying it on steam since I still have the original snes cartridge but 19.99 is over the instant-pickup pricetag for myself for digital only crap - so I would have either waited for a sale or at the least waited to see the reviews.

I suppose one thing a game like this helps is that it helps you identify the shills and morons doing steam reviews. ;)

You'd think that they'd learn sooner or later that releasing badly ported shit like this is a bad idea oh who am I kidding, of course they're going to keep doing it, because I'm sure that far too many morons (at least enough that Square Enix made mad bank on this overpriced turd port) probably just went "OOOH CHORNO TRIGEGR!!!!`~!!!~11!" and snapped it up without even thinking about it, even despite the terrible reviews, assuming they even looked at them at all before rushing to click the buy button.

I mean, I love me some Chrono Trigger (and, yes, even Chrono Cross, too). And that is why Square Enix screwing the pooch on this so badly is so vexing.
