Putting this here for future reference. Found it via Google's privacy checkup thing that they prompted me with out of the blue a few minutes ago. While I had nothing on the Google end of things[1], several 3rd party ad sites were apparently doing shit with my data, out of which I have now opted.
Thing is, though, even just using that opt-out site required temporarily disabling most of my adblocking shit, including NoScript, so it'd be just like it to have all been a scam of some sort that did the exact opposite of what it purported to do. We'll see, I guess. Oh, and it should be noted that this thing is per browser, and also requires allowing third party cookies, apparently, which was already set on Chrome for me, but which I did not change the setting to allow Firefox to do, so it apparently "failed" to opt-out of some things because of that, but it's more likely because I never allowed them to ever set cookies in the first place for most of them. Hell, even on Chrome, for which all of the settings were apparently ideal for it to run, 8 of the sites apparently failed to let me opt-out of whatever, which is kind of bullshit, I think.
In any case, all of this should be a moot point, regardless, given that I run various adblockers, anti-anti-adblockers, and NoScript constantly, aside from for a rare few sites that I've white listed on these. But then, those "rare few sites" is all it takes to get bad shit, I guess.
[1] - Well, it did find some Youtube search results and view history from pre-2015, but I've cleared all of that, as well. So now I should be, ostensibly, null and void as far as being tracked directly by Google, assuming Google is being honest here.
