One more Facebook copy/paste for now.
On his FB Page, Wil Wheaton posted the following post about Fuckface Von Clownstick:
Just so we’re clear on what’s happening: Saudi Arabia engaged in state-sanctioned murder of an American journalist who wrote for an American newspaper that has been consistently maligned and derided by the President of the United States of America, and the President of the United States is helping KSA cover up that murder. He has chosen to side with and participate in a foreign government’s coverup of its murder of a journalist. He has chosen to side with KSA over the advice and reporting of America’s own intelligence agencies, and shows no indication that he’s willing to enact any meaningful consequences for KSA.
This sends a loud and clear message to any autocrat that it is open season on anyone who the President of the United States of America views as his enemy.
THIS. IS. NOT. NORMAL.
I shared this on my own FB page, without commment (at least at first), because hell yeah. Right on. Fuck Trump.
But then, I got to thinking about it, so I added these comments under my own post:
Thing is, though, how much longer can we keep on saying "THIS. IS. NOT. NORMAL." before we come to the unfortunate realization that this kind of shit has happened *so* *fucking* *much* over such a short amount of time (with, generally, little to nothing being done about it, outside of constant complaining, such as this) to the effect that, oh shit, look, it has become the de facto norm after all?
We may not *like* it, and we may not *agree* with it, but while Trump is POTUS, this *is* *indeed* normal.

-- Normal: conforming to a standard; usual, typical, or expected.
-- Normal: the usual, average, or typical state or condition.
Dictionary dot com:
-- Normal: conforming to the standard or the common type; usual; not abnormal; regular; natural.
-- Normal: serving to establish a standard.
Merriam-Webster:
-- Normal: conforming to a type, standard, or regular pattern
-- Normal: according with, constituting, or not deviating from a norm, rule, or principle
-- Normal: occurring naturally
Everything about this is, by those definitions at least, "normal" behavior from Donald Trump and his presidential administration.
Donald Trump is not a "normal" President, based on all the ones who have come before him, but within the context of his own presidency, all of these things that he keeps doing and these things that keep happening under his administration, these things *are* "normal" *for* *him.* They conform to the standard set by his time and actions in office. They are usual, typical, expected behavior from him. Because Donald John Trump is an evil shitsmear on the underwear of humanity, an as-of-yet uncaught and unpunished criminal, and his performance as POTUS *directly* reflects this reality. Having such a man as Donald Trump as POTUS is the *only* thing that is *not* normal here, but *with* that being the case and until the problem is rectified via his removal from office, preferably in handcuffs, everything that follows is indeed entirely "normal."
Yeah, as much as I hate it, and as much as I wish it would stop, and as much as I wish that Fuckface Von Clownstick was no longer the President of the United States, as long as he is and continues to be the POTUS, this shit is and will continue to be most definitely normal.

Date: 2018-10-24 10:51 pm (UTC)From:But for just the past two years, and within the context of Donald Trump being the President, it is absolutely normal. Because Trump is a vile, evil person for whom doing dogshit like this is completely typical and expected. There is nothing in the least bit unusual about the fact that Donald Trump is a criminal who simply has yet to be charged with and convicted for his crimes (and, I fear, never will be, which would also not be too awfully surprising if that ended up being the case).
At this point, for me at least, I am almost as fed up with the people who are continually surprised or shocked or aghast that Trump is doing/able to do things like this, as if him doing such things came completely out of the blue and somehow caught them off guard, as if the precedent hadn't already long since been set that Trump is going to do and is perfectly capable of doing even more shit like this on a regular basis, rather than these people merely acknowledging that, yes, indeed, there goes the President of the United States, yet again doing the same old asinine evil bullshit that he's always been doing, adding yet another item onto the already miles long and ever-growing list of reasons he needs to be in prison rather than in the White House, as I am fed up with Trump and all his lickspittles in the first place.
For myself, I'm mostly just sick of even hearing about all the dumbshit that's going on (though that obviously doesn't stop me from reading about and posting about said dumbshit). I have already completed early voting and voted straight Democrat as best as I was able to do so, so until and unless this supposed "Blue Wave" happens in November and ushers in a new, Democrat-controlled Congress who will, finally, do something to end Trump (or, at least, they had damn well fucking better do something), there is not a single thing else that I can try to do to correct the situation in which my country, at least for the time being, has an illegitimate shithead usurping the office of President. I can rant about it until the heat death of the universe, but that won't accomplish anything aside from catharsis for me, but even for that I feel like I'm already past the point of diminishing returns.
Trump is President, and Trump is going to keep on doing stupid and/or evil things while he is President. He has been doing stupid and/or evil things the entire time he has been President, pretty much from Day One. And he is going to continue doing stupid and/or evil things while he is President, until he is no longer President, whether the end of his presidency comes because he was impeached by a Democrat-controlled Congress and then charged and arrested by Mueller for his crimes, because he is voted out of office in 2020, because he has served out his full two terms in 2024, or because someone provides a "Second Amendment" solution to the issue (and I've already posted elsewhere about the problem with any potential "Second Amendment" solution to the problem, i.e. the ones who would otherwise be most likely to do such a thing are the ones who are, paradoxically, most blindly supportive of Trump).
