I had completely forgotten that the Mother 4 fan game was even a thing, even though I had been following it pretty closely back in the pre-Trump years.
And yeah, Ian and Pat are completely right in that it makes perfect sense to not use established properties when making your games, because the owner of said established properties are 99% certain to shut your shit down. Only rarely will you encounter that 1% established property owner cool enough to let you finish making your illicit fan-game.
