So... No Man's Sky. I guess I can say I've beaten it now.

I completed both the Artemis Path and, just now, the Atlas Path. I have a Living Ship (since the "multiplayer missions" required to get enough of the Quicksilver currency to buy a Void Egg can be completed fairly easily while playing "solo," even if you do have to look at all the ugly map-marker waypoint garbage for all the bases built by other players on those communal mission worlds). I've got essentially two galaxies worth of planets to fuck around with now (as you can still go back to old bases in the initial galaxy once you "beat the game" and go to a new galaxy), but all in all, aside from whatever weird, "exotic" planets I haven't seen yet, they're all kind of same-y. Not sure if I'll actually continue to fuck around with them for much longer, but they're there if I want to, I guess.

There's still stuff I haven't done in game, but it's mostly minutiae. Haven't unlocked all of the buildable stuff yet. Haven't maxed out all the the "milestones" yet (though all I have left are the "discover all the fauna on X number of planets," "survive for X amount of time on a harsh planet," and one more that I don't recall at the moment). Haven't unlocked all the slots in my inventory yet. Haven't maxed out faction relations with the three races or three guilds yet (though I'm one level away from max for each of the three races). Haven't learned all the words in all the languages yet. Haven't found (or looked for, really) a cool enough ocean planet in order to build an underwater base on it yet, as that's a thing I sometimes like to do in games that let me do it (though there apparently aren't any super-deep oceans in NMS at this point in time, so I may not bother with it).

I'd say it was definitely worth playing through it (in game counter says I've played it for 94 hours, while Steam counter says 161 hours, and I have no idea which is more accurate, or why there's such a huge, almost 70 hour discrepancy there, but it's definitely somewhere between the two). However, I don't think it's going to become my Next Big Thing that I perpetually keep coming back to, the way X3 Albion Prelude is.
