Semi-related to the last entry... dreams.

Just some stuff I ran into while perusing wikipedia earlier. Lucid dreaming. Yeah, old news to some (myself included), but others may find it interesting.

Also, these kinds of dreams can kiss my ass, die in a hot car fire, and go to Hell, go straight to Hell, do not pass Go, do not collect 200 dollars. I find these dreams more disturbing than the more traditional nightmares that I've had. Though the dreams I would consider to be traditional nightmares, at least when they start out, usually end up becoming the aforementioned lucid dreams, and thus no longer nightmares as such. One such dream I'll describe below.

Yeah, I've had some weird dreams lately, too. One in particular stands out. I don't have time to relate it at the moment, but I'll edit this entry when I get homewhenever I freaking feel like it and get around to itright now, almost a week after writing the original entry:

Ok, so here's the dream. It started off in some random house. There was a guy walking around talking to some other guy(s). The other guy(s) was/were very non-descript so I know nothing about them, but the first guy I'm pretty sure was Mikey Walsh from The Goonies (played by Sean "Sam Gamgee" Astin). I guess the other guy(s) was/were from The Goonies as well, but I'm not sure. Anyway, they were walking around through this random house and heading to the front door. Mikey said something about how some other people are stalking him, trying to kill him for some reason. And then, they opened the door and left the house. They're never seen again in the dream.

The door to the house was still standing wide open for a few seconds, with the "camera" pointing at it from inside the house, when two new figures approached from the right. The one on the right was some normal dude, in a black trenchcoat and a fedora. But the... thing on the left wasn't even a human. It was some crazy... thing. It was basically humanoid in shape, but that's it. It didn't have an actual head or neck, but more of a slight lump where a head should be. The arms were not arms, but were instead kind of tentacle-like, in that they tapered off to points instead of hands. The legs were big and blocky, and actually got bigger and wider as it went down to the ground. Instead of feet, the thing just had millions of these smaller tentacle-like things coming out the bottom part of its legs. And the thing was covered from top to bottom alternately by clumps of sparse black hair and blackened lesions. It... was not a pleasant looking thing.

The guy on the right rang the doorbell, even though the door was open and they could have just walked in. From inside the house, to the left of the "camera" viewpoint, came a girl. I got the impression that she was Mikey's sister in the dream, though I'm pretty sure he didn't have a sister in The Goonies movie. Anyway, she was all like "Mikey? Is that you?" but then she saw the hideous thing standing in the doorway, shrieked, and started running back the way she came. The thing started chasing her through the house. The guy in the trenchcoat and fedora were never seen again in the dream.

The thing was chasing this girl through this random house, and I guess it morphed or something because now it was a werewolf kind of thing. It was shaped like a giant bipedal wolf now, though it still had the clumps of black hair and lesions all over its body. Also of note, its eye-sockets were empty. The girl kept running from this thing and opened a door and went into a new room in the house.

This room was huge, gigantic, gargantuan. Think of a Super Wal-mart or something with all of the crap cleared out of it so it's just open floor space. Now quadruple the floor space and raise the roof by about twenty stories. That's how big this room was. And there was no furniture or anything in the room. The walls and ceiling had a kind of classical, old Victorian kind of feel to it, but that's about it.

So, this girl ran to the middle of this huge room, where the only thing in it was this really tall spiral staircase. She started running up this staircase. Just as she was about to reach the top, which only took a few seconds even though it's twenty stories up, the werewolf thing simply leapt from the floor to the balcony at the top of the stairs. He landed in front of the opening at the top of the stairs and looked down. The girl freaked out again and decided to slide down the railing, instead of running all the way back down. However, just as she started sliding, the stairs abruptly came to an end (even though she had just ran up them) and she fell the twenty stories back to the ground. She was pretty obviously dead at this point.

Anyway, the werewolf thing jumped back down and started chowing down. These huge, ridiculous fountains of blood were flying everywhere from the girl's corpse while the thing slashed away with its claws. The "camera" zoomed out to a far corner of the room and focused on the scene of the werewolf eating the girl.

At this point, I think the dream became partially lucid. Suddenly, the "camera" started moving back toward the scene. Now, it's not just "the camera", but it was actually me. So yeah, I was walking toward the werewolf, and as I was moving, time started moving backward. As I reached the scene, it got to the point just after the girl hit the ground. Just as the werewolf jumped down, I extended my left hand and caught him in a kind of Force Grip kind of thing, holding him hovering in mid-air. Then I flicked my wrist to the left and smashed the werewolf into the far left wall (and keep in mind that this room is huge). Then I lowered my left hand and raised my right hand, picking him up again with the Force Grip or whatever. Then I flicked my wrist to the right, and slammed him into the far right wall. Then I raised both hands and picked him up again. This time I twisted my whole body to the left again, and hurled him to the left wall. This time he smashed completely through the wall and wasn't seen again. As I turned to the girl, who was still quite dead, that's when I woke up.

Not sure why time didn't reverse to before she hit the ground and died, but it didn't. I'm not sure that I was actively in control of the time reversal myself, or if it just happened on its own. All I know is that I kept the werewolf from eating her corpse, using the Force to throw him around. And I don't know where Mikey and his friend(s) went, or where the trenchcoat guy went, or anything else. *shrug* It was just a really effed up dream.

I think I'll remember this dream about as clearly as I still remember the Jurassic Park related dream I had several years ago, which was just as weird, though a lot shorter.
