...but here's the kicker: it was sent to me unsolicited by the NC Republican Party.
First of all, I am registered as a Democrat, so why the fuck am I getting anything from the Republican Party?
Second of all, why is the Republican Party sending out mail-in ballot request forms to anyone, given that the current de facto leader of their party, one Dumbfuck Jackass Trump, is doing his level best to make everyone believe that mail-in ballots are inherently fraudulent? "Voting by absentee ballot is EASY, SAFE AND SECURE," says the outer wrapper (yeah, it's one of those "envelopes" that isn't actually a real envelope but just a piece of glossy cardboard or whatever folded over). Is the North Carolina GOP really daring to contradict their God Emperor and the higher-up GOP muckity-mucks in DC (including NC Senator Thom Tillis)?
In any case, no, I will not be voting by mail-in ballot. Not because I don't trust it, but simply because I'd rather go, in person, COVID-19 be damned, on October 15 (or as soon after that as humanly possible) to vote. No matter how I vote, if I just nullify even one vote for Dumbshit Trump and Thom Tillis and Dan Forest with my vote for Joe Biden and Cal Cunningham and Roy Cooper, then that will be enough for my catharsis. It'll have to be, because it probably won't have any actually meaningful effect otherwise. *weary sigh*
