At first, I thought playing as Bloodless in Bloodstained would be just as uninteresting as I found playing as Zangetsu to be. It's actually a bit more fun, honestly, though I don't know if I'll continue with it for now. (EDIT) Also, I've noticed lag in the game now that wasn't there before. Maybe they broke something in the latest patch. That's another reason I don't really care to keep playing it right now. I was at least maybe thinking about resuming my Miriam New Game+ playthrough, but no. (/EDIT)
Unlike Zangetsu, Bloodless does not start with all of her abilities. She starts with a basic attack, the ability to high-jump (not the crazy rocket jump thing that Miriam gets later, just a normal, higher-than-Miriam-at-the-start jump) and float with the umbrella if you hold the jump button, and you immediately get a power-up that lets her do a slide. Just from what little I played, I also found an ability to shoot a blood projectile and another that let me charge her basic attack by holding the attack button (which also serves as a parry/block, maybe?). Beyond that I have no idea what other abilities she gets. I read she dies in water unless you get an ability later that negates that, but I didn't play long enough to reach water to see.
Also, her voice-set and her clothing changes with how much magic she has. I.e. the less magic she has, she loses the breathy sighs and speaks more "normally," and she has less clothing (or, at the least, the frilly skirt goes away, anyway). Which is an... interesting touch, I guess?
Another difference is that she starts in her boss room, rather than on the ship, like Miriam and Zangetsu do.
Still no story to speak of, at least in what little I played of it, assuming you care about that sort of thing.
