"Rescuing the world takes a pair.
"A comeback 30 years in the making, the hybrid live-action/CG animated action-comedy catches up with the former Disney Afternoon television stars in modern-day Los Angeles. 'Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers' premieres May 20, 2022, exclusively on Disney+."
My immediate, gut reaction before watching this was "Yay! New Rescue Rangers!"
My immediate, gut reaction after watching this was "That monster's gonna give me nightmares..."
My reaction after I've had more time to process it (like, say, half an hour or so) is "Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, that they didn't stop to think if they should."
tokoz on Twitter said it felt like it was going to be "Ready Player One: Cute Animal Edition." Having not seen (or read) Ready Player One myself, I wouldn't know, except that based on that Honest Trailers thing there that she linked me to... yeah... yeah, that sounds about right.
Also, the first time I watched it, I didn't even consciously notice that they weren't using chipmunk-ized voices, for some reason, though I noticed something seemed a bit off. After Tokoz pointed it out, I couldn't unhear it. It just sounds wrong.
