Every fucking time I get a notification that Dragon Age: Inquisition is on sale, either from Steam or Origin[1], I stop everything and go on a fruitless check to see if goddamned Denuvo is still infesting it or not. And I always come up empty handed, same as before. Steam does not show that Denvuo is in the game, aside from the Denuvo Games curator notification on the Store page saying it is still there. I'm not sure if Origin shows if a game has Denvuo at all, one way or another; if there is, I have not found it yet. I even checked the Origin pages for other, more recent games that are said to use Denuvo, such as Battlefield 2042 and FIFA 2022, and could find nothing. (However, it should be noted that, even on Steam, those games do not have a Denuvo warning, either, despite apparently using the malware, which is yet more bullshit on Steam's part, too.) Given that I have seen no definitive news that the infection has been cured, I'm still not going to risk it. To reiterate: until and unless I see positive confirmation from a source that I trust that Denuvo demonstrably has been removed from Dragon Age: Inquisition, I will not be buying it. Simple as that.

Honestly, I suppose I should just remove all notifications about it altogether, just so that this problem stops reoccurring, because at this point, even if I bought the damned game, I'd probably never actually play it. *weary sigh*

[1] - Via IsThereAnyDeal.com, since EA/Origin itself does not actually deign to inform users if a game goes on sale.

That prompted me to go take a look and make sure EA and Bioware were both put on the ignore list, as unannounced drm gets like capital punishment (From my wallet's perspective!) treatment! Sure enough they both already are, and they'll stay that way until the end of time since as I mentioned once I ignore something I typically never un-ignore it.

Reason I was curious though is because Dragon Age II wasn't showing as ignored when I searched for "Dragon Age"... added an ignore directly on that to make sure it would start showing ignored. >_>

Anyway back to waiting for Valkyrie Chronicles 4 to finish downloading... another 4hrs to go (11hrs total) This is one of the top reasons why I prefer physical media, even if the game does need to be copied to the harddrive regardless.

Yeah I wouldn't have bought it on Steam/PC due to that as well, in addition to my computer just running like shit. On the PS4, it's its own thing though so it's fine. It's not like it's been linked to some third party account that I'd have to sign up for despite it being on a console. Which is another reason why I just flat out banned EA even on consoles. I had the Dragon Age Origins special edition that I bought long ago on the PS3. But to play it, and use the DLC etc, I had to sign up for EA iirc. Never did end up playing the game.

In general I don't buy any game on Steam/PC if it's on a console. Even if you put aside the whole 3rd party DRM that plagues almost every console game that's ported to PC (or at least feels like it), console games always seem to play like shit on my PC if it'll run at all. I tend to have a 50% success rate at getting games to run period, with less than half of those running without slowdown. Part of the reason why I'll buy smaller games on PC. Even then that doesn't seem to help at times due to just outright poor programming.
