(EDIT 2) Oh, it's apparently free now. Go figure. Still not worth it, even at that price. And I feel sorry for the rubes who got scammed out of $30 for this shit. (/EDIT 2)
Because it came up in my Steam Discovery Queue (as I'd already honestly forgotten about that whole thing)...
AI Dungeon is $30USD ($23 at the "new game" "discount") on Steam. Again, that's thirty goddamn dollars for the weakest version of their now subpar AI (compared to howgooddecent it used to be, before Latitude royally fucked everything up). It's basically the "You get the same thing that's currently free online, just without the shitty popup ads!" version. Fuck right off with that horseshit. But then, I wouldn't have paid $3 for this, or even $.03, hell.
Also, here is the (current) top "most helpful" review. Nothing in that review is incorrect (aside, apparently, from a date thing that was incorrect but has already been fixed).
(EDIT)
I should note that that review is no longer showing up on the main Steam page, although it apparently still exists, as the link still works. I'm going to cut/paste the text of that review here, in case "something unfortunate" should happen to the review:

"Allow me to share indisputably truthful facts about Latitude:
On the 27th of April, 2021, Latitude implemented a new content moderation policy. As part of this policy, human moderators were allowed to access AI Dungeon (AID) stories that were considered PRIVATE by its users (imagine a diary company announcing they would be reading your diary). Although they have since reversed this policy due to widespread condemnation, that this decision was made at all shows the regard Latitude has for customers' privacy.
"Ironically, Latitude did this even while they themselves had trained their AI with data that violated their own content policies:

Although they have since retrained their AI services to exclude this content, this further demonstrates the hypocrisy which characterized the incident.
"Shortly after this took place, Latitude allowed the company they were purchasing AI services from, OpenAI, to collect their users' private stories without any consent from those users. OpenAI subsequently sent these stories, which included DOXXABLE information, to a third-party: the crowdsourcing website Taskup. Taskup employees were free to view, screenshot, and even share these deeply personal stories however they pleased.
Due to the nature of the contract between OpenAI and Latitude, Latitude was unable to protect its users from OpenAI; OpenAI was thereby allowed to abuse the privacy of AID users and face zero repercussions.

Although Latitude and OpenAI are no longer in a professional relationship, Latitude has provided NO guarantee this will not happen again with their new AI provider, AI21.
"Also, the images generated in this version of AID are merely selected from a cache of prefabricated images; they are not created on-the-fly to compliment your story.
"Not recommended."
And here is Latitude's response to that review, which can be seen directly under the review now:
"The current version of AI Dungeon available on Steam DOES NOT function in the way this review describes. We don’t dispute that some of these events occurred, but since that time, Latitude has made dramatic improvements to products and policies to close vulnerabilities, end partnerships, and protect player privacy.
"We agree the incidents were unacceptable and have since left OpenAI as our AI provider, terminated employees, and overhauled our data and privacy policies and infrastructure. We have secured new providers who are aligned with our promise to protect our players. Player stories are encrypted, and we have strict privacy policies that prevent unauthorized access of unpublished stories.
"Additionally, AI Dungeon has never required or solicited personally identifiable information (we only capture username, email, and password to create an account).
"We appreciate the open dialogue and hope new players will consider the current version of AI Dungeon, not the one described in this review."
Translation: "Oh, we don't do all that stupid, evil shit anymore (or so we're dubiously claiming now), so everything's all good, right? Therefore, please do give us thirty dollars for the shittiest version of our product!"
(/EDIT)
Oh, and the Developer/Publisher has mysteriously changed to "Latitude" instead of "VoyageAI" like it was before. Go figure.
Anyway, I just clicked that "Ignore" button there on the Steam page for this game.
