Actual headline, thanks to Dreamwidth's dumb subject line limitations: "Responding to FBI search, Trump and allies return to his familiar strategy: flood the zone with nonsense"
So, what CNN means to tell me is that GQP politicians, via RWNJ "news" "sources," have been spreading blatant lies and baseless accusations in the wake of the Mar-a-Lago FBI search? Blatant lies and baseless accusations that, nonetheless, will have the ring of truthiness to the stupid, ignorant, gullible, hateful asshats who vote for said GQP politicians and watch said "news" "sources," because they are exactly what the asshats want to hear and believe?
No, I'm not even going to pretend to be surprised or shocked by that, because that has been the goddamned status quo for the past half century or so. Or, at the very least, since 1996. (EDIT) Apparently, it has been even longer than merely half a century, actually. (/EDIT) They have even been knocking the microscopic film of dust off of the long con and trotting that dead horse out to beat on it some more.
And the hell of it is that since it's CNN here saying that these things are lies, it makes it even easier for the stupid, ignorant, gullible, hateful asshats to more readily believe that those things are """true,""" given that CNN has been one of the biggest targets in the ludicrous Lügenpresse narrative of Trump and RWNJ "news" "media." They lie about CNN being "fake news," and the people who believe actual fake news discount actual news as lies. It's a horrid cycle that needs to be destroyed.
