Sure... okay... *shrug + incredibly heavy, weary sigh*

All of that is just yet more unsurprising and worthless GQP hypocrisy, though, to be shoveled on top of the taller-than-Olympons-Mons pile of GQP hypocrisy which has been stinking up politics for decades, and calling them out on it only serves to make people like me feel very mild, very vague, very brief, very useless schadenfreude.

I mean, it is incredibly likely that these same people also just straight up said very terrible (and very true) things about Trump himself, back before Trump was nominated (either time), similar to JD Vance.[1] But just look at them all now, with their noses and lips and tongues all snug and cozy in the fathomless depths of Trump's festering ass crack.

And, needless to say though I will say it again anyway, unlike Trump's idiots here, nothing that Hillary Clinton supposedly did ever amounted to even as much as a single bean, let alone an entire hill of them, despite the multiple years and millions of dollars the GQP wasted "investigating" it. (But you ask them to maybe investigate all the crimes that Trump has committed and is still committing and will continue to commit, and they'll just shriek at you for daring to challenge their God Emperor.)

[1] - I know for a fact that at least Marco Rubio did. I don't feel like sullying my search results with the names of the others to check what they might have said about Trump back in the halcyon days when Trump wasn't SCROTUS IMPOTUS, though.

"Hi. Now that Trump is president... again... we're going to look at how he and his party are always focused on problems that aren't really problems (DEI, immigrants, and censorship) instead of problems that are (climate-enhanced wildfires, oligarchy, and actual censorship)."

One of the comments under the video: "So is this sense of unreality what Germans circa 1933 felt?" I would say... maybe? Probably. The difference is that we should have goddamn known better, this time. Doubly so, given that we've already endured a hellish four years with Trump as the President of the United States of America before the current, likely way more hellish four years still to come of Trump as the President of the United States of America. It's not going to be great, and we're going to be trying to repair the damage caused by 2025-2029, for much, much longer than just those four years, like how we're still trying to repair the damage caused by 2017-2021 even now. Well, some of us are trying to repair the damage, anyway. Too many of us are actively, maliciously trying to cause the world to burn (both figuratively and literally).

So anyway, yeah, this is an almost hour long video pointing out all the finding out that's happening as a result of all the fucking around that happened in November 2024.

Anyway, in conclusion, to hell with Donald Trump forever, as usual.

(Beware: Warmbo is in the video. Not a lot, but still... a little bit of Warmbo goes a very, very long way.)
kane_magus: (Default)

"Hi. Well, we're doing this again.... I guess. So, let's ask the tough question: are Americans just plain stupid for electing Donald Trump?"

The gist of the above video:
  1. Voters in general = ignorant and gullible and inattentive and very checked out of politics on the whole (because politics, granted, is indeed very fucking banal and insane and enraging), but not necessarily full on stupid, and as such it almost, almost makes sense that more of them voted for the loud, obnoxious, brazen liar/con man/criminal who claims he very definitely has real, true, totally legitimate plans to Fix Everything™ instead of for the establishment bozos who appeared (to ignorant, gullible, inattentive, very checked out eyes) to have been, at best, keeping everything bad or, at worst, actively making everything worse, in large part because the loud, obnoxious, brazen liar/con man/criminal repeatedly, incessantly said they were.
  2. Democrats (specifically Democratic politicians) = very definitely stupid, for myriad reasons.
  3. Liberals (extended from Democrats and distinct from progressives [and mainly referring to vapid talking heads on the ol' boob tube and the not so ol' social media]) = apparently secretly racist, sexist, transphobic, MAGA-lite shitbags all along, who don't have a clue what they're talking about, because now they're apparently trying to blame "special interest groups" (like, you know, immigrants and trans people and Palestinians) instead of their namby pamby, wishy washy, milquetoast, "trying to please everybody but actually pleasing nobody" candidates (e.g. Biden and Harris, see point #2), even though said politicians didn't even really do all the "bad" stuff that the pundits are claiming cost them the election (e.g. "bad" stuff like "caring too much about" immigrants and trans people and Palestinians). Let's just say pants-on-head stupid and leave it at that, I guess.
  4. Republicans (specifically, the vile, self-centered, hypocritical asshats who knew and continue to know that Trump is eminently terrible and have explicitly said so in the past, but who now pretend to adore the taste of Trumpian dingleberries) = vile, self-centered, hypocritical asshats who slurp the shit on Trump's ass hair either out of cowardly fear of reprisal, out of the hope that Trump can directly benefit them at the expense of everyone else, and/or out of petty, hateful revenge for racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, xenophobic, etc. very stupid reasons.
  5. Some More News (both the creators and the fans of the show): could and should and need to do better.
  6. In conclusion: We, all of us, even those who voted for Trump, are almost assuredly about to be properly super fucked by Trump and his incoming administration of utter clowns (with apologies to clowns for the unfair comparison), and we need to be prepared for the consequences of that, despite the fact that this is a thing that was easily predicted and long foreshadowed due to the very words that have come out of the face-anuses of Donald Trump and those who disingenuously support Donald Trump. We're all in this together, whether we like it or not.

"Hi. Let's take a look back at the 2024 Democratic National Convention – what the speakers said, the media reaction, the right-wing grifters who tried to infiltrate it, and what we would have really liked to see."

(Just to get it out of the way, while I'm mostly fine with the [morbid, gallows] humor and all that, I really wish that Some More News would do away with the full on fucking skits. Like, getting rid of anything at all to do with fucking Warmbo would be great, along with all the "evil Katy" stuff. Anyway, this episode doesn't truly start until around 3:30 into the video. Basically, in the video timeline, you can very safely skip the entire section labeled as "Intro," and another five to ten minutes could easily be trimmed out, too, thanks to all the other asinine Warmbo-related and "evil Katy"-related skit shit. [That one little red finger puppet dude with the top hat who had appeared in previous videos and later on in this one is okay, though, I guess. Except that, spoiler alert, Cody apparently killed and ate him in this video. Oh well.])

Annnnnnyway...

Lesson one: Just "vibes" don't make Cody happy. Fair enough.

Lesson two: Take fact checkers with a grain of salt. Who fact checks the fact checkers, after all? Themselves? Not so much.

Lesson three: Yeah, the first third of this video was criticizing the DNC (and, briefly, fact checkers). But the second third of this video was criticizing the rancid, delusional RWNJ response to the DNC. Oh boy! Right wing grifters are stupid assholes! And other tautologies/redundancies! To hell with Charlie Kirk. To hell with... uh... that MyPillow guy, whoever the fuck he is? ("Mike Lindell" apparently? That name seems vaguely familiar, probably from previous SMN videos.) To hell with "Libs of Tiktok." To hell with Matt Walsh. To hell with Jack Posobiec. To hell with Laura Loomer. To hell with Catturd. (Wait, what? Seriously? There is a RWNJ "personality" who goes by the name "Catturd"? What the actual, literal, unvarnished fuck.) To hell with JD Vance. (Remember that douchenozzle?) To hell with Ben Shapiro. To hell with Dinesh D'Souza. To hell with Ann Coulter. Seriously, just an entire smorgasbord of RWNJ dumbshits showcased in this video. To hell with the entire lot of them.

Lesson four: Third third of the video: More bashing on the Democrats, because there are other, real, valid reasons that the DNC still sucks, actually. Not that Trump/Trumpublicans wouldn't still be far, far worse, even on the same issues, of course, as the video fully grants. But even so. "Democrats: At Least We Won't Make Things Worse." US politics, as a whole, is fucking ridiculous, stanky clownshoes.
kane_magus: (Default)

"Hi. In Part 2 of our Reagan series, we're looking at how Ronald Reagan's presidency altered how both parties think about politics, why it pushed Democrats to the right, and how Reagan's tactics and racist dog whistling paved the way for the rise of Donald Trump."

Follow up to this one.

Wow... Reagan's campaign slogan really was "Let's Make America Great Again." Holy fuck. Well shit, that just makes MAGA even worse, since it's just a blatant, banal ripoff. So... completely par for the course for Dumbshit Jackass Trump, in other words. (If nothing else, it's so nice to be able to say, for the first time in a while, that I'm too young to remember that shit. Still... it feels like that should have been something I would've heard about before now, even so. Huh...)

Oh, and a whole bunch of other really terrible, shitty things were discussed in the above video, too.
kane_magus: (Default)

"Hi. Joe Biden is the presumptive Democratic nominee in 2024. What this episode presupposes is... what if he wasn't?"

Yeah, the fact that primaries are state-by-state, completely different shit depending on the state in question, and not all held on the same day is apeshittingly bugfuck.

All that other stuff Cody said... eh. *shrug* The gist of the episode, in general: Joe Biden sucks, but not nearly as much as Trump sucks, so let's use that as a jumping off point to talk about primaries in general, from like a century ago to now, while reminding everyone at every possible opportunity that Biden sucks, though not as much as Trump, who is still orders of magnitude worse than Biden could ever possibly be, even though Biden is pretty bad. Oh, right, primaries, so let's dunk on the whole Bernie/Hillary thing again, too.

Also, we almost had an episode that successfully didn't involve Warmbo in any way. Almost. *weary sigh*

"Hi. In today's episode, we look at the election-industrial complex, why U.S. election season drags on for so long, and what we could do to lessen the influence of corporate money on politics."

Spoilers: The answer to "what we could do to lessen the influence of corporate money on politics" is "not a whole lot, because the things we could do will be fought tooth and nail by those with corporate money and an interest in using that corporate money to influence politics."
kane_magus: (Default)

"Hi. In today's episode, we look at how billionaires often benefit from their supposed altruism and why we can't rely on their "generosity" to solve society's problems."

"Billionaire philanthropist" is an oxymoron. If they were truly philanthropists, they wouldn't be billionaires.

This came on the radio[1] while I was out and about a few hours ago. As much as I normally like NPR, I had to change the station after just a few minutes. I got as far as when they started doing interviews about five minutes into it, with Trumpanzees outside of the courthouse. Hearing that "Jay Lowe" cretin, or whatever the fuck his name was, going on and on about how great Trump supposedly is and all that other asininity... that was some of the the dumbest dumbshit to have ever been dumbshat out of a dumbass. And, of course, most of it was "buhbuhbuhBiden buhbuhbuhHillary." (Or "whatshername" as that dickweed called her.) It was utterly enraging.

Trump is a fucking criminal, and there is nothing whatsoever that will convince me otherwise, up to and including Trump somehow being found not guilty in court, which is very much a non-zero possibility. And as such, at this point, it is my not at all humble opinion that anyone and everyone who still supports him, in any way whatsoever, is essentially nothing but an accessory. This includes that "Jay Lowe" brainshart and every other Trumpanzee brainshart like him out there. This includes dipshits like Ron DeSantis and whoever else who claim that if Trump is convicted, they will immediately pardon Trump if they become POTUS. That's just all the more reason to make sure that none of those asshats ever become POTUS (along with Trump himself again, obviously).

And I'm fully aware even as I type this that this wrathful rant probably makes me sound just as bad as all the Trumpanzees do about Biden and Clinton, except in the reverse. However, despite what one may hear on RWNJ "news" like Faux Noise or whatever, assuming one is moronic enough to listen to that shit and take it seriously, the difference, of course, is that, unlike with Clinton and (to a lesser extent) Biden, there is a goddamn mountain (figuratively speaking, but possibly also literally speaking) of evidence of Trump's criminality, including many of the words that have come directly out of that second anus that Trump keeps between his nose and his chin. Anyone with at least two brain cells to rub together ought to be able to see that. But then, this post is mostly about Trumpanzees and their innate lack of such brain cells, so... *weary sigh*

And that's not even counting all of the new shit that will likely be stirred up during this trial, for Trumpanzees to ignore.

[1] - The audio in the link there appears to be an even longer version of the lunacy than was played on the radio in my car.

Here's some appropriate music to set the mood.

So, basically, what I take away from all this is that this report by John Durham, a Republican appointed as a special counsel by Trump stan[1] William Barr to "investigate" the FBI investigation into the whole Trump/Russia thing, can pretty much be safely ignored as the partisan dogshit it was always destined to be. What a shock, I know. *eye roll* I mean, apparently, Durham's conclusion was essentially "While the FBI was free to investigate Trump, they totally shouldn't have investigated him so hard." From the very start, this was never intended to be favorable to the FBI or unfavorable toward Trump.

In any case, Trumpanzees are just going to use this as more "proof" that Trump/Russia is a "nothingburger." Though, to be fair, it pretty much is a nothingburger, at least in the sense that Trump is ever going to face even the tiniest of consequences for his myriad heinous crimes. *weary sigh*

(I was kind of waiting for a Seth Abramson thread on this, but apparently he just used it as opportunity to plug his books again. I mean, good on him and all, because more people need to read those books, but I was hoping for something a bit more immediately relevant than that. Unless he's saving that for his Substack thing. *shrug* Oh, and speaking of Seth Abramson and Trump and the FBI and all that shit, I will just use that as an excuse to leave this here, yet again.)

(EDIT)

Also this:

I don't know what has become of CNN lately. They seem to have gone from mostly dry and boring to actively bad and untrustworthy. Basically, they are becoming the "fake news" that Trump always said they were, but mostly because they seem to be becoming explicitly more pro-Trump. I guess they're taking that guy's desire for them to "be more like FOX News" to heart. As far as this concerns me, I guess if CNN is becoming worthless shit like Faux Noise, that just means that I'll be refraining from linking to CNN in the future and will be seeking out more legitimate sources of news for any given story.

(/EDIT)

(EDIT 2)

Okay, it's not Seth Abramson, but here is a thread on the subject of the Durham "report."

(And reading only a few of the replies to that thread on actual Twitter makes me glad that I no longer have an account on that blazing trashfire of a social media website.)

(/EDIT 2)

[1] - At the time, at least, though Barr seems to have become a little bit soured on Trump these days. Not that that matters at all, as it's a textbook case of far too little, far too late, as well as textbook cases of backpedaling and ass-covering. Barr still deserves to rot in prison alongside Trump and everyone else involved in Trump's criminal dumbfuckery.

Actual headline, thanks to Dreamwidth's dumb subject line limitations: "Responding to FBI search, Trump and allies return to his familiar strategy: flood the zone with nonsense"

So, what CNN means to tell me is that GQP politicians, via RWNJ "news" "sources," have been spreading blatant lies and baseless accusations in the wake of the Mar-a-Lago FBI search? Blatant lies and baseless accusations that, nonetheless, will have the ring of truthiness to the stupid, ignorant, gullible, hateful asshats who vote for said GQP politicians and watch said "news" "sources," because they are exactly what the asshats want to hear and believe?

No, I'm not even going to pretend to be surprised or shocked by that, because that has been the goddamned status quo for the past half century or so. Or, at the very least, since 1996. (EDIT) Apparently, it has been even longer than merely half a century, actually. (/EDIT) They have even been knocking the microscopic film of dust off of the long con and trotting that dead horse out to beat on it some more.

And the hell of it is that since it's CNN here saying that these things are lies, it makes it even easier for the stupid, ignorant, gullible, hateful asshats to more readily believe that those things are """true,""" given that CNN has been one of the biggest targets in the ludicrous Lügenpresse narrative of Trump and RWNJ "news" "media." They lie about CNN being "fake news," and the people who believe actual fake news discount actual news as lies. It's a horrid cycle that needs to be destroyed.

When a Democrat (supposedly) commits a crime, Republicans are adamant that law enforcement investigate them thoroughly and excessively.

When a Republican (definitely) commits a crime, Republicans are adamant that law enforcement that attempts to investigate them must itself be investigated. (EDIT) Funny, though, how there's never been a single fucking peep out of the GQP about investigating the FBI concerning the True Pundit Hoax. Go figure. (/EDIT)

(But then, we already know that Republicans just don't give a fuck.)

"Hi, woke moralists! In today’s episode, we take a look at Jordan Peterson through the lens of Jungian archetypes – just as he would want – and explore some of his other ideas about climate change, gender, marriage, hierarchies, and lobsters. Don’t check the timecode!"

This video is literally longer than The Movie, despite Cody's many jokes to the contrary in this very video.

Also, to go off on a completely unrelated tangent that has nothing to do with anything about this video, I am, from this point forward, going to start carrying around with me a copy of The Loud House: Revamped, and every time someone asks me a simple "yes" or "no" question that I don't want to answer, or like any question at all, I'm just going to pull that bad boy out and read it, in its entirety, right there on the spot. Though I may spice things up on occasion and whip out The Subspace Emissary's Worlds Conquest or Ambience: A Fleet Symphony instead.

Anyway, to get back on topic, I eagerly await the twenty-seven hour rebuttal video that I'm sure Jordan Peterson is already working on in response to this Some More News video. Oh, wait, no. No, I'm not. I'm not eagerly awaiting that at all.
kane_magus: (Default)

Hi! In today's episode, we honor 4/20, the weed day, by discussing the history of 'fear of crime' politics and its impact on our society. Probably negative impact, if I had to guess!

Already hoisting the middle finger and I'm barely a minute in. This one's going to be good (if, that is, you define "good" as "existentially horrifying" or something).
kane_magus: (Default)
I really, truly hope this bites Dumbfuck Jackass in his dumbfuck jackass so hard. There's a lot there to bite, after all. He should have left it alone. He really should have left it alone. Now every bit of the prodigious amount of evidence that he actually did the thing he is suing to prove he didn't do is all going to come rushing back into the spotlight again, or so I fervently hope. And this time, he doesn't have the status of SCROTUS or his bootlickers in the Senate to ignore all of that evidence and cover for him again.

I might be and probably am being far too optimistic here. It's almost assuredly going to come to nothing at all whatsoever, same as every other time the possibility has come up that Trump/Russia might finally see some actual consequences.

(EDIT)

"Trump ordered to pay nearly $1 million for "frivolous" lawsuit, drops another suit soon after"

Ha ha, eat shit, you orange fuck.

"Hi. In today's episode, we ask questions about Joe Biden's first year as president. Questions like, 'What's his name?' and 'How's it going, Joe?'"

Be warned: Warmbo is in this video. Anyway, outside of the mere existence of Warmbo in this video, there was very little else with which I disagreed.

Or, rather, there was a whole hell of a lot in this video with which I disagreed, but it was not the fact that it was Cody who was presenting the things said by others with which I disagreed, nor was it Cody's vicious mockery of said disagreeable things. Like, I didn't agree with a single word that Dumbfuck Trump or Bitch McConnell or any of the other GQP dumbfucks (or GQP dumbfuck-wannabes like Manchin or Sinema) said, and there were some things that Biden himself said with which I didn't agree, but I'm glad Cody presented all those things, if only for the purposes of middle finger waving.

Context for that last tweet there, since this is the first time I've mentioned it here.

"Hi. Today we discuss forever war, and explore what it is good for."
kane_magus: (Default)
(Double-nested quotes because I always put headlines of posts that aren't originally mine in quotes to begin with, and this one was already a quote, so yeah.)

Yeah, I don't want to go back to "normal" because "normal" is what got us into this mess in the first place. "Normal," at least in the United States, was a bunch of racist dumbfucks spewing about "the China virus" rather than taking this shit seriously. "Normal" was a bunch of moronic shitstains bawwing about "muh freedoms" rather than wearing a goddamn mask. "Normal" was, apparently, what got Dumbshit Jackass Tramp elected to SCROTUS for four years, which directly led to far more people dying of COVID-19 than there probably otherwise would have been. (Then again, even if Hillary Clinton had been President like she should have been, the same "China virus" "muh freedoms" racist fuckwits would have still existed, so... who knows? They still probably would have deliberately not worn masks because Hilary would have been telling them to wear masks, as opposed to their God Emperor Dump, who was explicitly telling them not to wear masks.)

And yeah, big soulless corporations have been and always will be big soulless corporations, so that's nothing new. That's part of "normal" as well. A big soulless corporation shrouding itself in a thin veneer of humanity is, yes, still a big soulless corporation. Go figure.
