People still care about and pay attention to Metacritic user scores? Wow.
I mean, sure, while there are some cases[1] where the user score more accurately reflects the quality of a game than the so-called "critic" reviews do, in too many other cases, it's more likely the result of dumb reasons like "too woke" or "for teh lulz" or whatever. Of course, when there isn't a reason given at all, such as above, then who the hell even knows why. (Or so the dev claimed in that article, anyway. Given that all those "baseless" negative reviews have been removed now, I guess we'll never know.)
[1] - Same score it was when I last bothered to look at it a few months ago. And I mostly only care about that one simply because it amuses me. And, of course, despite that low user score, it did nothing to stop the game in question from doing extremely well (more so than it ever deserved to do), so clearly nobody cared about the Metacritic user scores in that case, so why care in any of the others?
