"Thousands of subreddits going dark broke Reddit's website, mobile app."

The gist: Reddit, similar to Elon Musk-owned Twitter, is about to go the way of the dinosaur, all thanks to the greedy, boneheaded antics of out of touch admins and execs, like that r/spazspez guy.

I won't say "And nothing of value was lost" here, but honestly, for me, probably the only tiny bit of Reddit that I would be sad to see go would be the Daystrom Institute subreddit, i.e. one of the only non-shitty Star Trek related subreddits. And even there, I did nothing but occasionally lurk, once in a blue moon (mainly due to searching for something on Google and reddit links just happening to be among the topmost results). Beyond that, Reddit may as well not exist, as far as I'm concerned.

In fact, after starting this post, but before actually posting it, I went ahead and deleted my Reddit account entirely, with its grand total of 4 "karma" and one reply I made to some bug-related thread on a The Sims subreddit several years ago.
