Ignoring the beach house joke, the only way this situation could be worse is if the last entry had been something like "Oh, wait, I figured it out. Never mind," and there was absolutely nothing after that (aside from maybe a reply or two asking "Well? How did you fix it?" or whatever). I've seen way too much of that kind of shit in real life tech support threads.
