I finished reading Ender's Game last night, for the first time. How I managed this long without reading this book is beyond me.
I won't go into great detail about it or anything, other than to say it's awesome, and I'll definitely be looking into acquiring the sequels.
Some things of particular interest to me: Orson Scott Card lives in Greensboro, NC, which is about 20 miles away from my hometown of Madison. As such, Ender Wiggin and his family are also from Greensboro. It was neat to hear Card mentioning Lake Brandt Road and other such familiar (to me, at least) places.
Also, this line: "Early to bed and early to rise makes a man stupid and blind in the eyes." It's so true.
(Update)
Oh, and forgot to mention that Ender's real name (or, at least, the name given to him by his parents) is Andrew, which was also of particular interest to me.

The Bean sequels though, those are great. It starts with Ender's Shadow, which is the book you just read, but told from the perspective of Bean. It goes from there and follows the events on Earth after the war. Much more entertaining, and closer to the original book in pacing and presentation.
Also, if you're looking for a great series by Card, I have to recommend the Homecoming Saga. It's a far reaching 5 book series, and I would say my favorite of what he's written. I found out after reading it that, at least the first book, is based off of the story of Joseph Smith, the founder (for lack of a better term) of the Church of Latter Day Saints (Mormons). I found the books quite enjoyable, and did not feel any religious message was being preached, which truly astounds me as a sign of Card's brilliance.
