My take away from this article is that "immersive sim" has simply become yet another pointless, useless, meaningless buzzword, especially once one feels the need to start appending "-adjacent" (or "-like" or "-lite") to the end of it as some sort of distinction. I mean, just look down in the comments, where seemingly every single commenter has a different definition for what does and does not make an "immersive sim" game.
