This just goes to show that the Republicans were about as big on slinging dishonest horseshit 20 years ago as they are now. They just did a way better job of it back then.
Also, I really think that the Donald Trump campaign, in particular, might want to think twice about questioning anyone's military record (or potential lack thereof), because as was also mentioned in the above article, I have two words (and five pairs of sarcastic, dubious double-quotation marks) for them:

Also, JD Vance saying that Trump didn't lie about his military service, when Trump got his fucking "bone spurs" diagnosis as a "favor" to Trump's father, who was the landlord of the doctor who diagnosed him, is just fucking laughable. (I mean, regardless of what Donald Trump ever says about anything, to claim he "didn't lie" is pretty fucking ludicrous, because there's roughly a 99.9999% chance that Trump did lie about whatever, because Trump is a pathological liar about everything.)
