My UK import of Fahrenheit was waiting for me in my mailbox when I got home from school today. Luckily for me, I don't have to be at school until 3:30pm tomorrow. ^_^v However, it's going to suuuuck to have to do my Physics homework tomorrow instead of playing this game. :/

Wait... ...and it seems to have come with an Atari t-shirt. Weird. Cool, but weird. Wasn't expecting that. ^^; I'll save that to wear on Friday.

Oh, and an interesting bit of trivia: PC games in the UK are apparently sold in DVD cases like console games over here, rather than in boxes, for anyone who didn't already know that.

*UPDATE*

Ok, first impression is that the game is quite cool...

...except for the "Physical Action Reaction" sequences, which are like 5-step Simon puzzles, except using two Simons at once, which are random every time you try them, and which you have maybe 1 second worth of time to enter. I have yet to successfully enter one. I'm probably going to try restarting the game tomorrow and see if I can get through it properly, as I finally got fed up and stopped retrying the first PAR sequence I encountered, though failing that one didn't end the game. However, I just got to a point in the game where they expect the player to enter four of the damn things in a row, all of which I have failed so far, with each failure causing a substantial hit to the character's sanity meter. Yeah, I'm going to restart tomorrow, but for now I've got to take a break before I get totally pissed with it.

Other than those incredible annoyances, the game is excellent. Rather Shenmue-like at times. Actually, I suppose the PAR sequences are also Shenmue-like, though I don't remember the things in Shenmue being quite this freaking annoying.

*UPDATE 2*

Okay, I figured out why I was screwing up the PAR sequences. In this case, I suppose the Shenmue mindset was bad. In Shenmue, you wait until after the button sequence has been displayed and then key it in, whereas in Fahrenheit, you simply key it in while it is being displayed. Now I have more incentive to start over though, because I messed up a PAR in the third chapter and finally just got tired of retrying it. Don't know how vital it is, but it's nagging at me, so I'm going to go back and re-do it.

*UPDATE 3*

Finished my first playthrough last night. Except that the story kind of went off the deep end near the end of the game, it was a pretty excellent game, all in all. It's going to be cool playing back through it and trying different things to see how they affect the plot. I'd definitely recommend it for fans of adventure games, even though it's definitely not the traditional point-and-click games of the olden days. I'd also highly recommend it for those who are fans of the Shenmue games, since there are many similarities between them and Fahrenheit as I said.
