Sick

The only reason I'm out of bed right now is purely due to nausea. It has passed for now, which is good, but probably will be back later. It usually is. I had thought that, of all the symptoms I'm currently feeling, the sore throat was the worst. However, emptying the contents of one's digestive system in the wrong direction while having a sore throat probably beats that.

Anyway, while I was up, I decided to make this entry, the main purpose of which is to let my game dev team know why I'm not going to be there today. Nothing is due today, I think. Right? I don't think so and it's a good thing too since I'm not coming in today. I might, if I feel up to it later today, try to knock out some of the other homework that's due later this week, but as for now... no. For right now, I'm just going to go back to bed for a few more hours.

I went back to bed and, like, blinked, and suddenly it was almost 1:30pm. So, now that I've had roughly 12 hours of sleep, I only feel weak and crappy now, as opposed to tired, weak and crappy.

Although I ordinarily wouldn't feel the need to visit a doctor over something like this, I'm looking up doctors from the website from my insurance provider in case I end up needing to miss the midterm on Thursday and need an official diagnosis to prove that I was actually sick and not just faking or whatever. I'm with [livejournal.com profile] strphnx in that, of all the teachers, Ghali is the most likely to require such a thing, especially for missing a midterm.

I hope this will have passed by Thursday, but... well, if I'm still feeling bad enough tomorrow that I need to miss school again, I think I'll be going to see a doctor, just in case. Luckily, based on the insurance website at least, there are several doctors within just two or three blocks of here to which I could walk, if necessary.

Hmm, interesting. The RMP Unlocked membership of ratemyprofessors.com is now free. One of the benefits of signing up for it is that we can now see all of the ratings for a given teacher, rather than just the first couple of pages. I'd highly recommend signing up and giving some of your favorite (or least favorite) teachers a look.

Teachers

Here's an interesting thing I've observed about DigiPen over the past year and a half. Unlike all the other schools I've attended in the past 23 years or so, from primary school all the way up to a different 4-year university, DigiPen stands alone when it comes to the disparity between the quality of the teachers. There are very few teachers at DigiPen, at least in my opinion, who are merely mediocre and middle-of-the road when it comes to quality. Most of the rest of teachers here, however, are either really good or really bad. I'm not sure why this is, but I do know that I'm too woozy right now to do more than simply point it out instead of actually trying to analyze it in any meaningful way.
