My sister (the one with whom I live) got a COVID test (
PCR, not rapid) on Friday, and the results came back today:
"detected." As such, this means that it's around 99.999% certain that I
also have COVID, since I've been sick for almost as long as she has been. I won't say it has been "mild," because it has sucked some serious asshole, so far, but it hasn't been completely debilitating either. As such, I guess compared to how bad it
could be, it
actually is pretty "mild," so far. I.e., I feel at least okay enough, for instance, to sit here at the computer, rather than, say, just lay in bed all day. Same is the case for my sister, who has been up and about pretty much the whole time, since telling me she was feeling sick last week. Granted, neither of us feel like running a marathon or anything right now, but then, it's not like I'd be doing that anyway, even if I was at full 100% health. ¬_¬ Neither of us feel even remotely bad enough to have a need to go to the hospital or anything like that, which is nice, and I hope that remains the case.
Symptoms for me have been moderate headache, sore/scratchy throat, lots of coughing, increasingly stopped up nose (today is about as bad as yesterday, which was worse than any previous day since it all started last week), and just a general, full-body malaise, which sucks shit. I can still taste food or whatever, at least so far, though, so there is that. For the most part, it has "just" felt like a relatively bad case of flu. Honestly, from what I recall of it back then, this here doesn't feel too different from when I was sick back in
December, 2020. (I'll never know for sure if that was original recipe COVID.) That stuck around
around two weeks, at least. Hope this one passes more quickly. It's been around four or five days for me, at this point.
My sister and I both had the vaccine (Pfizer version), but neither of us had a booster yet. For me, I won't be eligible for the six-month booster until February 23, since I got my second dose of the original vaccine on August 23, 2021. I'll be getting it as soon as possible, though.
