A while back, I said that one of the first signs of imminent destruction of a company by EA was when quality of product started to decline after said company's acquisition by EA.

Here is another sign: when top people start leaving for greener(?) pastures. Granted, this isn't quite as big as, say, Richard Garriott leaving Origin or Will Wright leaving Maxis or Peter Molyneux leaving Bullfrog, but still... it's probably just the beginning. (BioWare's equivalent to Garriott, Wright or Molyneux leaving would be if/when Ray Muzyka or Greg Zeschuk leave the company. [EDIT] Hey, look, I can apparently predict the future. [/EDIT])

Also, totally unrelated to the above, but here is another reason EA sucks. I don't play multiplayer games (and if I did, it most likely wouldn't be the ones in that list), but I'd guess that this sucks for anyone who does and may have still wanted to play those.

Amazingly, not a single one of these are things that I have previously ranted about myself, though I've most definitely seen more than a few of them in my time. There sure is a whole lot of weepy butthurt down there in the comments under the article, though. What a shock.

Also, while Downfall parodies are rather banal these days, this one was pretty funny. Of course, given that it was one of the earliest of the bunch, that's to be expected.

"By basing its strategies on the text of a manual, a computer infers the meanings of words without human supervision."

The game it played was Civilization. I'm assuming the first one, but the article doesn't specify, except that the screenshot is from Civ5.

From the comments: "Bit of a tangent, but I'm curious about which victory conditions the AI tended towards. I'm hoping it was space colonization and not world domination."
