I don't even own a PS4 yet, and have no clue when (if ever) I will actually buy one, but even so, in anticipation of the day when I will/might get one, I just went to the Playstation Store and "bought" P.T. for my PSN account. Because the game will be removed from distribution on PSN on Wednesday, April 29, i.e. in three days. It's free so I didn't lose any money doing so, and some are saying once you have it on your account, you should still be able to download it, even after they remove it from the service otherwise, though others are saying you might not even be able to download it after that, even if you do already have it on your account. I don't know, either way, but it's on my PSN account now, just in case. Even if Silent Hills itself never sees the light of day, which looks likely at this point, what I saw of P.T. by itself still looked interesting enough. If I can't download P.T. later on if/when I do get a PS4, it won't be a huge loss or anything, but still...
Digital downloads, ladies and gentlemen. The future of video games. *weary, frustrated, annoyed sigh*
I'll just say this much: Silent Hills might have been the killer app that got me to buy a PS4, just as Silent Hill 2 was the killer app that got me to buy a PS2 back in the day, but if Silent Hills is cancelled now... then my desire to ever buy a PS4 at some point just took a huge dive.
