People always talk about how money needs to be taken out of politics and all that. I think money needs to be taken out of criminal/civil justice as well, in a similar manner, so that these creepers with lots of money (or creepers with more fans willing to contribute to a scuzzy GFM campaign) can't keep using that money to wield the justice system like a bludgeon against their victims. "Justice" shouldn't automatically go to the asshole with more money, the way it does in far too many cases these days.
And, yes, I'm well aware that this sort of thing has been a problem pretty much ever since the first time a lawyer started charging clients for their services, around some point in the early Precambrian era. Or the first time a "lawyer" interposed their "expertise" into a situation, like that Beard moron (who, in my not so humble opinion, probably should face "enhanced disbarment" ala Jack Thompson, at this point). That doesn't somehow make it not still a problem that needs to be addressed.
And, of course, there's always the problem of douchenozzles incessantly threatening and doxxing people that somehow needs to be dealt with, as well.
On the bright side, the good guys won this one, at least for now.
