I hate UPS so much.
Pretty much the exact same situation as before. Driver refuses to even let me sign the damned InfoNotice thing, so now I have to call them up and try to set something up.
I've been trying to avoid ordering things in such a way that they could be potentially shipped via UPS (e.g. the cheaper but slower Super Saver Shipping thing, which just uses USPS, who has no problem with leaving stuff), because UPS has become a gargantuan headache. Amazon caught me off-guard with it this time, though, and shipped it via UPS anyway. *heavy sigh*
(EDIT)
Okay, it ended up not being too bad, though it was still moderately inconvenient and rather irritating. I just called robo-voice girl and told her to "hold for pickup". She said then that someone would be calling me within the hour to set things up, since I could still get it today. Around 10-15 minutes later, someone called and told me it was ready. After that it was a walk down to Redmond Transit Center, a short bus ride over to Bear Creek P&R, then about a 1/3 mile walk to the UPS place, then back to Bear Creek, then back to Redmond, and finally back here.
I think if Amazon ever slips one by me again like this and ships something via UPS, I'm just going to do this again. If anything, I'm actually getting my stuff faster than I would have had I actually been able to sign the InfoNotice thing and then wait until tomorrow for it to be delivered, so that's a net positive that came of the hassle in one sense at least.
