I finished reading The Dreamer's Thread last night. It was quite good.

(Oh, and here's the official website, which I forgot to include before for some reason. Hmm, it looks like that page isn't valid anymore, but here is the author's page itself, which is just as good.)

Copy/paste of the Amazon blurb:

"Everyone Dreams. But what would you do if you suddenly found out that you were one of the few who creates dreams for the whole world? Would you use your power to harness the light and weave it into beautiful tapestries of magic and wonder, or would you fall prey to the seductive siren song of darkness and nightmares? For tattoo artist Aura Mayville, this becomes a reality as she is ripped from her life of art and music and thrust into a realm where good and evil struggle for control over the minds and hearts of men. With a sarcastic sorcerer, a mercenary, and her Spirit Guide as her only companions, Aura must journey through the dream realm to discover both her power and where her heart truly lies. In a place where anything is possible, can she find the strength to hold on to herself, or will she be lost to the shadows forever?"

Oh, and Aura happens to live in Seattle. It's not a major plot point or anything, aside from mention of Pike's Place Market early on, but I thought I'd point it out as it's of particular interest to me.

Despite this being the author's first published novel (as far as I am aware anyway), I think it's still as good as anything from more established Big Nameā„¢ authors, be it Harry Potter or something by Stephen King or whatever. She's working on a second book now as well, which is something on which I'll definitely be keeping an eye.

Oh, and for those of you who were in the OtakuWars!, you might recognize the name of the author, as she was the writer for Amara Alexander. I saw echoes of Amara in Aura as I read the novel, which was pretty cool I thought.

Yikes.

Oh lord. I can't believe that character sheet still exists. Bleah, bleck, and blarg!

But thank you sincerely for the plug. I'm so glad you enjoyed it!!!

Google Groups didn't want to give it up easily either. ;p I eventually found it by finding the equivalent post on the Yahoo ML, and then plugging in the exact date into GG, since other means like, you know, normal searches weren't working. (And it's really not as bad as all that, you know. Truthfully, you were one of the better newbies ever to grace the OW! with your presence.)

I added you as a friend on LJ, by the way, even if there's not too much point in it since it looks like you haven't actually used it in over five years. ^^;

LOL, yeah. I don't really use it much. Mostly to read other friends' LJs on occasion. And leave comments of the snarky kind, where appropriate. ;)

Incidentally, thanks for pointing me to Chris Kern. Been ages since I heard from any of you guys so it's really nice to get back in touch!

Don't worry, your WG will eventually make it to the WG site when I get bored enough to transform it into a compilation site. Adding 200+ different characters that existed during the OW! reign along with a history of their WG changes will take time obviously. ;)

He's on LJ as well, but I think I'll let him reveal himself here if he wants to do so, sort of like Mord did there.

If it'll make you feel any better, I managed to dig up my own initial WG for KM (http://groups.google.com/group/alt.fan.sailor-moon/msg/e949688b2f111a45?hl=en) as well, which I'll post here. See, now that wasn't so ba- ....uh. Um. Er... yeah, I kinda see where you're coming from now. >_>; Before reading that, I was almost tempted to look up my actual intro post too, but that would be far too embarrassing (http://groups.google.com/group/alt.fan.sailor-moon/msg/edb05981f4d1c37e?hl=en) so... oh dammit, there it is. *extends hands with index fingers in the cross position* The formatting... the horrible, horrible formatting... among other even less savory things (oh god, that Command & Conquer/Chrono Trigger crossover... and the Star Trek thing... and the Castlevania thing... argh.) Seriously, you were a much better OW! newbie than I was. >_>;;

And, screw it, might as well go all the way, so here's SD-KM's first WG (http://groups.google.com/group/alt.fan.sailor-moon/msg/cd97d1687fbcbf06?hl=en), in which I blatantly ripped off NC-Janitor.

Ahhh... memories... >_> (Has it really been 12 years since then? Really?)

Here's a decoder, (http://web.archive.org/web/20000828173520/http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Towers/7933/mooniecode.txt) by the way.

(Man, how I wish that w--- were still true. It's more like w or w+ nowadays. ^^;)
