Yeah, despite Mr. Sterling's claim in the headline there, I really don't think Mr. Kotick destroyed anyone here, least of all Tim Schafer.
Evidence? Despite what Mr. Kotick (who almost assuredly never actually played it himself) says there*, Brütal Legend was a pretty cool game. Just because it apparently didn't fit into Activision's rigid timeframe and budget and had to be published by someone else doesn't negate that fact. Yeah, sure, I get the need for deadlines and such, but at the same time, there comes a point when a publisher just needs to back the hell up and let the devs do their thing. I don't see them breathing down Blizzard's neck, what with Blizzard's usual "it's done when it's done" ethos for their games and all.
Honestly, I think Schafer made a pretty good point. Even if he did (kind of) recant later.
(Also, on a somewhat unrelated note, I have long found Destructoid's use of those retarded monster faces over people's actual faces to be... well... retarded. Then again, it is Destructoid. I suppose I can't really expect better.)
* - And, of course, a bunch of idiots in the comments there are echoing the same thing that Kotick said, i.e. Brütal Legend sucked. Well, what can I say? That's pretty typical for Destructoid these days.
