Sweet. Hopefully this works out and the first remake sells well, because I'd like to see the others redone as well and also, more importantly, new (non-crappy) games in the series. Keep in mind that these are remakes of the first seven (well, six, really) games. You know, the ones that didn't suck ass.* Also, Al Lowe himself is apparently on board with this, the distinct lack of which is something else the last two games shared (in addition to sucking ass).
Now, if someone could similarly get their hands on King's Quest, Space Quest, Gabriel Knight, Quest for Glory (though to be fair, that series actually ended, rather than being left dangling on a cliffhanger like most of the others), and the rest of the now defunct Sierra adventure games (as well as the cooperation of the original creators, as is the case here, or at least their approval and support), that would make me very pleased. And I'm not just talking fan-made things either, as cool as those may be. (Interestingly, in the course of writing this post, I just found out that Telltale Games is apparently going to be making new King's Quest games, so that's very cool. Strange that I somehow completely missed news of that until now. o_O)
* - Honestly, Magna Cum Laude wasn't all that bad. Sure, it was total dreck compared to the previous games, but it still contained at least the tiniest bit of the spark from those. Box Office Bust, on the other hand, was one of the absolute worst games I have ever tried to play. I only made it a couple hours in before I just had to stop, and I haven't touched it since. It was execrable even when compared just to Magna Cum Laude let alone the older games. The previous games were actually funny, even MCL in its own way. Even ignoring the crappy gameplay of BOB, the game itself was just way too mean-spirited. Also, in BOB, Larry Laffer was voiced by some other guy, who doesn't fit the role at all in my opinion, rather than by Jan Rabson, as he was in all of the previous games (at least the ones that had voices anyway). Even the tiny bit he was in MCL, he was voiced by Mr. Rabson. I hope they can get him back for the remakes, assuming those are voiced.
