Okay, this was a pretty funny photoplasty and all, but that's not the main reason I'm making this post.
This is why I'm making this post.
I saw that mentioned in the comments on the above Cracked.com thing and thought to myself "No way is it real" but then... yeah, turns out it is. Among a bunch of other statements of "fact" that I'd like to see PolitiFact take a crack at, in the end of that blatant, smarmy attack ad, Newt Gingrich really is mocking Romney because he spoke French. And also John Kerry as well.
What.
No seriously, is it that being able to speak a second language makes him an "intellectual" (which Republicans stereotypically hate), or is it the fact that the other language he's speaking is French that's supposed to be the bad thing (insert lame "Freedom Fries" joke here)? Or is it a little bit of both? Or what? I honestly don't get it. Until now, I was under the impression that having the ability to speak more than one language is usually a good thing, and not something to be mocked. (Unless the language is, like, Klingon or Tolkien Elvish or something, but even then...)
