I had a rather annoying and inconvenient dream this morning.
I was back in North Carolina, in my mom's bedroom and tinkering with her radio, trying to get it to pick up the local AM radio station that I normally listen to IRL in the mornings out here in WA. I kept getting static filled snippets of it (which is unrealistic since IRL I'd have been almost 3000 miles away), but couldn't get it to tune in fully. Finally, I gave up and went to my own bedroom (still in NC) and went to bed.
As such, when the radio came on in the real world, it didn't actually wake me up but instead incorporated itself into the dream. It was kind of like "Aha! I actually got it to work! Yay! *snore*" I know I wasted at least 20-30 minutes real time still half asleep thinking I was listening to a WA radio station while in NC, which caused me to end up being 15 minutes late to work. -_-
This isn't the first time that I've had an external stimulus affect my dreams, but this time it was especially weird in that it seemed like the dream itself was actively preparing for this to happen. Still, as much as I hate this sort of annoying mundane dream, they're still not as bad as the ever-hated cyclical false awakening dreams.
