Not like this is new, though. It's called DLC. Only difference, from what I can tell, is that they're going to be somewhat cheaper, but also much, much more useless than DLC already is. Essentially, they want to put MMO cash shops into singleplayer games, selling crap like pointless vanity items and the like. Well... some DLC already is like that even now, such as the extra skins/colors for games like Street Fighter IV and the dyes in Fable 3 and such.
