(EDIT) Since I wrote the below, I have gotten my hands on a smartphone and have played the MLP:FiM game on that. It's not too awfully bad, I suppose, though I'd still much prefer an actual game based on the franchise. (/EDIT)
So this is what constitutes an officially licensed My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic video game, huh? Sorry, but I have to give it a big ol' "meh" myself, at least based on what I see here. I mean, yeah, sure, I guess it looks relatively okay for a Facebook-ish mobile game and all, and I'm sure the target demographic will be plenty okay with it (even with all of the nods to periphery demographic names for some of the ponies), and it at least looks better than the Friendship Gardens game...
...but...
...I know I've said this before, but I'm still waiting for Hasbro to partner up with someone like Obsidian or Telltale to bring us a real MLP:FiM game. You know, something with some actual meat on its bones. I just want to play a game that has the same sort of feel as watching an episode of the show. Something that isn't just a basic platformer (fun though those may well be) or a mini-game collection or whatever. Something that is available for all platforms and not just for mobile devices that I don't own and don't care to own. Fan games are great for what they are, and some of them are extremely well done, but it's just not the same as having something with the full backing and resources of Hasbro, with writers and voice talent and such from the actual show involved, and with the expertise that an Obsidian or a Telltale could bring to the table. Seriously, if something like that ever came to pass, I'd take twelve.
