*shaking my damn head*

Seriously, people, making death threats, even if you "obviously didn't mean" it (or even if you did mean it), is not a viable, reasonable, constructive way to vent your frustrations, I don't care how pissed off you might be. This isn't rocket science, you know.

Oh, and I'll mention in passing that I have never heard of this Paranautical Activity game before this post. I have just as much interest in the game now as I did before this post, when I'd never heard of it. To be fair, though, I wouldn't have been interested in this game even if I'd encountered it under more innocuous circumstances, either.

The guy certainly needs to learn how to deal with stress, that's for certain.

Even if gamers are trying to put the blame of the incorrect Early Access tag on the game on him, he should have just clearly, and if necessary, repeatedly tell people the label wasn't done on his behalf and that they should review the product as it's final version. This was basically his source of income, as he liked to continuously point out via Steam's "monopoly". (I really don't think they have a monopoly myself. They're just the defacto standard for now. I'm curious how GOG's new software platform will work out for them - it's suppose to be something similar to steam, but again without the drm. It'll keep track of your library, download as needed, and auto-patch stuff. From what I've heard anyway.)

Uh, getting back on topic...

Regardless of anything else, in the world we live in now, I don't see how anyone anywhere would think it would be acceptable to post death threats period. Regardless of if they had a reason to believe they wouldn't be taken seriously.

On the other hand, if he had tweeted "GOD I'M GOING TO THROW GABE INTO A TANK FILLED WITH SHARKS WITH LASERS ON THEIR FRICKING HEADS" ... it probably would have been totally acceptable. ;)

I still wouldn't have bothered to tweet even that though myself.

And... looks like he's gone (http://www.pcgamer.com/paranautical-activity-developer-resigns-over-gabe-newell-death-threat/). Good on him, I guess, for trying to not let his co-developers go down in flames with him. I'm still not interested in their game, though, even if it were to get reinstated on Steam.
