Thread. I can see this being the case. You'd think abandoning Trump would be the way to *avoid* political suicide, but... I grok this, too. https://t.co/88ADKVQP1V

They're in too deep now, possibly. Only a few (otherwise feckless) outliers like McCain are even bothering to pay lip service to resisting.
— Kane Magus (@KaneMagus) May 12, 2017
Guys like McConnell are all the fuck in, though, and probably will be until it is far, far too late, if it isn't already too late even now.
— Kane Magus (@KaneMagus) May 12, 2017
Which, of course, is kind of the whole point of that thread. The @GOP is way too far gone to reverse course on this trainwreck now.
— Kane Magus (@KaneMagus) May 12, 2017
This whole thing probably won't be salvageable until the irredeemable assholes like Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan are kicked to the curb.
— Kane Magus (@KaneMagus) May 12, 2017
Of course, as I've said before, the @GOP has been beyond the pale in many ways *long* before Donald Trump came along.
— Kane Magus (@KaneMagus) May 12, 2017
Trump is not the disease that is killing the @GOP, though. Trump is merely the most obvious (possibly terminal) symptom of that disease.
— Kane Magus (@KaneMagus) May 12, 2017
Trump was that one step too far in the @GOP bid to do anything and everything it takes, no matter how despicable, to get what they wanted.
— Kane Magus (@KaneMagus) May 12, 2017
And now it is blowing up in their faces and they simply don't have a clue how to handle it without saving face.
— Kane Magus (@KaneMagus) May 12, 2017
-without *and also save face. Saving face is a good thing, in this case.
— Kane Magus (@KaneMagus) May 12, 2017
And... I don't know. Maybe that's what we, as people who steadfastly oppose Trump, need to do? Give the @GOP an out? A way to save face?
— Kane Magus (@KaneMagus) May 12, 2017
Personally, I'd like to see the entire fucking @GOP burn to the fucking ground, but I'd really rather have Trump gone, like, yesterday.
— Kane Magus (@KaneMagus) May 12, 2017
If we could lose Trump, his lickspittles, and the inveterate asshats like McConnell and Ryan, but throw the rest a bone, maybe that'd work?
— Kane Magus (@KaneMagus) May 12, 2017
Anyone in the @GOP who completely and unequivocally denounced Trump right now and helped to remove him from office would get a pass from me.
— Kane Magus (@KaneMagus) May 12, 2017
The rest who keep supporting Trump can burn in hell/go fuck themselves/sit on a cactus/insert dismissive phrase of your choice here, though.
— Kane Magus (@KaneMagus) May 12, 2017
I'd want this to be a *very* time sensitive offer, though. They fuck around too much and down they will go with the sinking Trumptanic.
— Kane Magus (@KaneMagus) May 12, 2017
The @GOP as a whole is in dire need of an intervention, in any case. https://t.co/61VjLkoFM7
— Kane Magus (@KaneMagus) May 12, 2017
The very first order of business should be to completely divest from the goddamn neo-Nazis and MRAs and such who have co-opted the @GOP now.
— Kane Magus (@KaneMagus) May 12, 2017
Russia's not even a blip on the radar, really. Simply getting the fuck rid of Trump will get rid of the Russia problem pretty much entirely.
— Kane Magus (@KaneMagus) May 12, 2017
But just removing Trump *won't* deal with the problems of all the racists, misogynists, xenophobes, homophobes, etc. who helped vote him in.
— Kane Magus (@KaneMagus) May 12, 2017
Because those stupid fuckers have been part and parcel of the @GOP since way before Trump came along.
— Kane Magus (@KaneMagus) May 12, 2017
They were around even before Obama became POTUS, though Obama's election is when they really seemed to start coming out of the woodwork.
— Kane Magus (@KaneMagus) May 12, 2017
Getting off-topic here though. Anyway, again, I don't know, but maybe giving (most of) the @GOP an out on Trump could be helpful for us all.
— Kane Magus (@KaneMagus) May 12, 2017
Turn your backs on Trump now, unreservedly and undeniably, and you save face (as far as I'm concerned). Otherwise, fuck off and die forever.
— Kane Magus (@KaneMagus) May 12, 2017
Kinda like how Flynn was seeking immunity, maybe we should give (most of) the @GOP "immunity," as long as they help excise the Trump tumor.
— Kane Magus (@KaneMagus) May 12, 2017
Once Trump is out of the picture, then, sure, we can all go back to the "usual" political bickering and other such pointless horseshit.
— Kane Magus (@KaneMagus) May 12, 2017
Though I'd honestly like to leave that behind as well, but I somehow doubt we'll ever be able to be *truly* free of all that dumb bullshit.
— Kane Magus (@KaneMagus) May 12, 2017
And, to be frank, it's that very sort of dumb bullshit that got us to where we are today. We, everyone, just let it all get away from us.
— Kane Magus (@KaneMagus) May 12, 2017
Many in the @GOP (mistakenly) thought Trump would be a breath of fresh air from all that stale dumbshit, and I can dig that sorta kinda.
— Kane Magus (@KaneMagus) May 12, 2017
They were fucking *wrong*, obviously, but I think many in the @GOP have come to realize it now, too. Those are the ones who need "immunity."
— Kane Magus (@KaneMagus) May 12, 2017
The ones who don't see it, who refuse to see it, who still dig in their heels, well, fuck those guys. The rest, though...
— Kane Magus (@KaneMagus) May 12, 2017
The sooner we see that that "the Trump problem" is no longer a "liberal vs conservative" or "Democrat vs Republican" thing, the better.
— Kane Magus (@KaneMagus) May 12, 2017
Anyway, I've ranted long enough, especially given that probably only one or two people at most will bother to read it if even that much. ¬_¬
— Kane Magus (@KaneMagus) May 12, 2017
This is, of course, assuming that we still actually have a chance to pull the emergency brake on this runaway train before it sails over the cliff. This is assuming the original thread above isn't correct about the GOP allowing Trump to somehow get away with something utterly, ridiculously, irreversibly[1], abjectly asinine, like getting rid of any further elections altogether.
[1] - Well, not irreversible in the sense that the rest of the country would let him get away with it, of course. (Civil War 2.0, anyone?)
