"In today's episode of Some More News we examine what actual adults should do in response to the Covington Kids and the bullying that's emerging from the presidency of Donald Trump."

The only failing of this video is that it doesn't touch upon the reason why all those white, male, Catholic school kids were in Washington DC on that day to begin with: to protest against the rights of women to have control over their own bodies. Given that the guardians/teachers of these white, male, Catholic school kids allowed this sexist/misogynist field trip in the first place, yeah, no, I don't think that those guardians/teachers gave much of a shit at all if a little bonus racism happened to occur on the side.

Come to think of it, I don't think Cody mentioned the BHI group at all, either. So two failings, at least.

Not, of course, that the presence of the BHI group and their actions excuses in the least how the kids then behaved toward Phillips after he walked up and got between the two groups. And, as Cody says, the fact that Phillips approached them first also doesn't excuse how they acted toward him. Nobody was blameless here, especially those kids, which right-wing "news" sources are portraying solely as victims, pure as the driven snow. Victims don't smirk in a man's face like Sandmann did or stand around him mockingly chanting and jumping around and doing tomahawk chops and such. That was Cody's main point, in the context of everything else to do with the Trump presidency before (and after) that particular incident, though he's mostly just preaching to the choir at this point (and to whatever MAGAt trolls show up in the comments under his video, claiming Sandmann was "raped" or whatever ludicrous nonsense). Like he said, he's not going to change anybody's mind, either way, good or bad.

As for the "adults," they'd already approved those boys being there for the March Against Women's Rights in the first place, so given that mindset, that's why I say they probably wouldn't have much cared about any of the bonus racist stuff that happened later involving the other groups, either, and that's why they've been hiring lawyers and PR firms instead of performing much needed mea culpas.

And speaking of PR firms, I think pretty much everything Sandmann has said, coached or not (but especially if it *was* coached, which it most likely was, given the involvement of the PR firms and such), about the encounter in the days and weeks after the fact has been, at very best, incredibly disingenuous. He's full of Jurassic Park-levels of mountainous shit, in other words. After all, it's not like he was ever going to admit it and say "Yeah, of course I was being a disrespectful, racist asshat that day, sure. I mean, obviously."
