"If you could, what game or video game genre would you eliminate?"
They took this topic in an unexpected direction, but I still liked their discussion.
That said, I'm not sure if I'd call it a "genre" as such, but what I would absolutely eliminate without the slightest hesitation from the video game industry space-time continuum would be any and every game that has ever used and will ever use the Facebook/mobile style of freemium bullshit timers, pay2win, and in-game microtransaction stores. This transcends mere genre, though, as that dogshit has started to infect everything, from myriad genres.
Oh, and I'd eliminate the entire battle royale genre, just to erase Fortnite and, as a result and more importantly, erase the Epic Games Store, because the Epic Games Store is an insidious lesion across the genitals of the video game industry. I'd have been perfectly fine with Fortnite, albeit completely apathetic about it, if only it hadn't contributed to the creation of the goddamned Epic Games Store, though.
