There is no such thing as an "environmentally friendly NFT." It's like saying "clean coal" or "humane slaughter."
For reference. Basically, voice actress Tara Strong came out on Twitter about how she's part of a movie project for which every frame will apparently be made/funded via "environmentally friendly NFTs." And when hundreds of people rightfully raked her over the coals for this, she came back whining about being "trolled."
And she's also acting as if the environmental aspect of NFTs is the only thing that's bad about NFTs, which is just ludicrous. NFTs are terrible for way more reasons than just the environmental stuff. Tara Strong is being scammed and she doesn't even realize it, instead taking it out on those who were trying to warn her not to do this. Well, it's either that or else she's all in and fully on board with this shit and just doesn't give a fuck otherwise.
*weary sigh*
I've been a fan of hers for decades, at least since Final Fantasy X and especially with MLP:FiM, but this might be one of those straw/camel's back moments for me. I'll give it a few days, but I think I might be done, at least as far as Tara Strong goes.
