Just received the following email from Mojank.

JAVA EDITION IS MOVING HOUSE

Hello there,
Over the course of 2021, millions of Java Edition players switched over to Microsoft accounts. We’re happy that so many of you are already enjoying benefits like a single account for all Minecraft games, two-factor authentication and improved player safety.

Starting on 10 March 2022, your Mojang account, which is used to play Minecraft: Java Edition, must be migrated to a Microsoft account to continue playing. Don't worry – everything about your game and how you play will remain the same, including your in-game username, progress, creations and skins. The only change is how you'll log in. Plus, we'll give you a special cape just for migrating!

Oh boy a special cape sign me the fuck up! *eye roll*

Meh. Well, I already was not playing Minecraft at all, so I guess I will most definitely continue doing that now, forever.

On the other hand, I already have a Microshit account, for whatever reasons, so I guess there's no harm in migrating the Mojank account to that and then continue to never play Minecraft. Not going to do it right this very minute, though, one way or the other. *shrug*

In other words, enough people migrated that they're willing to cut off the rest.

I had that notice in the client itself I think a month or two ago, although I don't remember if they specified march as the cut off.

I might go ahead and attempt a migration this weekend depending on how my booster affects me. I give it a 50-80% chance of having problems (migration, not booster) since I never did officially upgrade to a mojang account from my minecraft.net account.

I'm not playing minecraft much right now anyway since my current computer can't play any later than 1.16. their new "security features" seem to ensure security by preventing me from starting it. If it fucks over my ability to play minecraft at all it won't affect me by much pre-new computer. As I was only fiddling around in a new world. (As the latest launcher liked to fuck around with your world saves, and whether or not they'll show up in the list based on if you have mods enabled or not. Made it harder to play my original single player.)

Seriously the only reason I'd want to continue playing minecraft right now is to play on pseudo world.
