It's been a while since last time I did it, since I didn't actually end up doing that during the playthrough I made all those posts about last year.

Honestly, this time through, it all seemed somewhat easier than before. Then again, I kind of knew what all gear I needed and how to get it most of the time, so... *shrug*

All of this was on a Small Classic (i.e. normal) difficulty world, as I haven't tried on Expert or Master yet, though from what I understand, having post-Moon Lord gear would make those kind of easy, regardless, at least up until the endgame stuff again.

The only things that gave me a bit of trouble this time were, as usual, the Mechanical Bosses, at least the first encounters with them. But then, once I had gotten the Flying Dragon sword from the Old One's Army event (after beating Plantera and then the Golem, neither of which were an issue at all, this time through), I went back and fought each of the Mechanical Bosses individually four times each in a single night and then, because I had one each of their summon tokens remaining, all three of them at once without dying.

Even wrecked Duke Fishron pretty easily the first time I fought him, and then farmed him like seven or eight more times immediately after for his gear. Though, honestly, before trying him I already had gotten the Xeno Staff and the Cosmic Car Key from the Martian Madness event, which made him way simpler than he otherwise would've been.

The Empress of Light was pretty difficult, though, since I wanted to defeat her at least once prior to the Moon Lord. And I still haven't tried fighting her fully in the daytime, during which she does something like ten thousand damage per hit, which is basically a one-hit instakill.

And then, the Moon Lord himself killed me a couple of times, until I switched some my gear out. Final gear I used for defeating (and then farming) the Moon Lord: a Legendary Flying Dragon, Valhalla Knight armor, which let me summon several ballistas using a Ruthless Ballista Staff, a Ruthless Stardust Dragon Staff, and then, for accessories, a Papyrus Scarab, a Pygmy Necklace, a Celestial Shell, a Charm of Myths (replacing the Fishron Wings, since I wasn't planning on moving much), and a Star Veil (replacing the Terraspark Boots for the same reason I switched out the Fishron Wings). Oh and I had built a little house with a puddle of honey to stand in, along with a fuck-ton of traps I dug out of the Jungle Temple. The traps played little role in the fight, though. I mainly just used the same arena set up I'd previously created for the Pumpkin Moon and Frost Moon events.

And then, after I farmed Moon Lord a few more times, I finally made a Zenith for the first time ever, and then upgraded it to Legendary, so now everything melts like hot butter, including the Moon Lord.

There were some things I didn't bother doing on this playthrough, though, like getting all the biome keys. The only one I got through the course of just regularly playing the game was the Corruption Key, this time. Meh.

Honestly, if I bother with the harder modes at all, I may just skip straight to Master mode (probably on a Large world), since all the new stuff that's available in Expert is also available in Master, along with the stuff that's only available in Master. I'm already pretty much OP now, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to see what new goodies are in the harder modes, since I know there's some stuff that isn't available in Classic mode, like additional inventory slots and a faster minecart (which supposedly can be potentially useful for fighting daytime Empress of Light), among other things.

I guess if I really wanted to be a masochist, I could try a Master mode world with a new character, but... nah. >_>;
