Three caveats, though:
First, he's not actually leaving the Senate until 2027 (at the earliest, and assuming he really doesn't run and [somehow] win again in 2026), though, so he'll still, you know, be there (barring hisuntimely death or something. *fingers crossed*).
Second, this just means his "leadership" position is up for grabs by probably some dipshit Trumpanzee now.
Third:
"President Joe Biden, who has had a productive working relationship with McConnell, said he was sorry to hear the news.
"'I’ve trusted him and we have a great relationship,' the Democratic president said. 'We fight like hell. But he has never, never, never misrepresented anything.'"
