Well, Friday was my last day at Game Instinct. I just want to say that the two months or so that I was there totally rocked and that it will almost assuredly be the first place I try for employment next summer.
And, on a subject related to the above, I would like to recommend to anyone who has not yet tried out the free Google Earth to do so at their earliest convenience. *nods sagely*
I've had three game dev meetings with my team from Digipen in the past three days (school starts next Tuesday), and I have to say that our game is so far shaping up to be pretty freaking cool, at least conceptually. And starting out, I don't think we've bit off more than we can chew this time, unlike our game from last year (*cough*TuringcompleteAI*cough*), so I think it will end up being pretty freaking cool as a finished product as well.
Lastly, it looks like I've been tagged again by
dmjewelle for a meme. ^^;
List seven of your favorite songs of the moment in your journal and force seven other people to repeat this process.
As this is similar to the last one for which I was tagged, but since I don't really listen to songs "of the moment" (by which I assume this means current "popular" songs?), I'll just go through the ones in the particular playlist I'm playing at the moment and pick out the ones that I didn't put in that last meme. Again, these come exclusively from various video game soundtracks, since I rarely listen to "normal" music anymore. Most of these are not "current" by any stretch of the imagination.
1. "Romance I" - Michael Hoenig (the Aerie and Jaheira romance themes from Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn, for PC, seamlessly mixed into a single track)
2. "Tristram" - Matt Uelmen (the Tristram village theme from Diablo II, for PC)
3. "Motion E" - Spencer Nilsen (from Ecco the Dolphin, for Sega CD)
4. "Black Rose" - Steve Henifin (what I like to call "Maximillian's Theme" from Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem, for GameCube)
5. "Castle in the Mist" - Michiru Oshima (from Ico, for Playstation 2)
6. "Nontoonyt Island Song" - Mike Dana (from Leisure Suit Larry 3: Passionate Patti In Pursuit of the Pulsating Pectorals, for PC)
7. "Hometown" - Akira Yamaoka (the end credits theme from Silent Hill 3, for Playstation 2, performed by Joe Romersa. A remix of "Silent Hill" from the soundtrack of the first Silent Hill game for Playstation)
I'm not gonna tag anyone though, because I don't much care for it myself (though I suppose I didn't really mind it this time), and so am not going to inflict it on anyone else. I'll just pull a
kobanal and toss it up in the air for anyone to grab if they want it.
For what it's worth, the other songs on that playlist are:
- the bus theme from EarthBound (SNES)
- the first ship sailing theme from EarthBound (SNES)
- the Scaraba theme from EarthBound (SNES)
- the overworld map theme from Illusion of Gaia (SNES)
- the car overworld theme from Fallout 2 (PC)
- "Pirates Ahoy!" - Nobuo Uematsu, from Final Fantasy V (SNES)
- "Mini Boss" from Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (GameCube)
- "The Bamboo Jungle" - Mike Dana, from Leisure Suit Larry 3 (PC)
- the main theme from Curse of Monkey Island (PC)
- "Memories of Distant Days" from Shenmue (Dreamcast)
- "Silent Hill" - Akira Yamaoka, from (duh) Silent Hill (Playstation)
- "The Last Mariachi" - Akira Yamaoka, from Silent Hill 4 (Playstation 2)
- "Temple" from Super Smash Bros. Melee (GameCube)
- "Whistle of the Warrior" - Michiko Naruke, from Wild Arms (Playstation)
