I finished watching The Guild yesterday.
Mar. 8th, 2011 11:36 amLast night, I finished watching season 4 of The Guild. (I didn't realize at first that the entire 4th season is already available to watch on the main site, as opposed to on Youtube where only up to episode 7 of season 4 has been released, as of the time of this post.)
This series had been recommended to me multiple times by multiple people in the past, but I just never got around to watching it until now. I finally started watching it on Saturday, and ended up watching all of the first three seasons on Youtube by Sunday. The episodes are all quite short; none of them go above maybe the 8 minute mark, at most.
I totally recommend watching it because it's very funny.
On the other hand, if playing a MMO game IRL is even 1/1,000,000,000,000th as awkward and embarrassing as this series makes it out to be, then I'm kind of glad I've never done it myself (yet). ^^; That said, my favorite character in the series by far is Vork, who is probably the least socially well adjusted of the bunch. Hmm, wonder why that is...? >_>;

I'm sure there are probably people out there getting all riled up about this James O'Keefe NPR "hidden sting" video right about now. And I, along with others, simply have to ask: why?
First, seriously, "why would anyone trust what O'Keefe says about his NPR video?"
Second, I've watched the video. It's right there in the first link, so you can watch it yourself. What, exactly, did the NPR execs say that was apparently so outrageous? If there were any real "gotcha" moments, I didn't hear them. I actually agree with most of what Ron Schiller said as it was presented in the video there, so I didn't see any problem with it. He generalized a bit, but even so, none of what he said about Republicans/Teabaggers was flagrantly false either. Besides, he explicitly made it clear that it was his personal opinion and he wasn't speaking as a representative of NPR.

Oghren is Microsoft Sam, apparently.
Mar. 8th, 2011 11:11 pmI just got that dialog in Awakening, complete with the Microsoft Sam voice. Very weird. Apparently, Bioware uses that when they don't have the voiced lines yet, and apparently that one got left in the released game.
Semi-related, here's your Nightmare Fuel for the night:
