Only watched the first 15 seconds or so since I have to leave for work in a bit, but I have to agree with Matt (Luna). I didn't like Resident Evil 4 all that much either (and I haven't played any of the later RE games). ¬_¬

TMNT dream

There is apparently a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon out now. Prior to just before the writing of this post, I had only heard two things about it. The first was a Facebook post from someone saying they were watching it, and the other was a tweet from Rob Paulsen, who voices Donatello in the new show (and who voiced Raphael in the old 1987 show).

And, so it would seem, that alone was enough to cause me to have a TMNT related dream last night. The dream was in the style of the old 1987 cartoon, even thought it was ostensibly about the new one, since until just before beginning this post I didn't know what the new cartoon even looked like (more on that later).

The first bit was between April O'Neil and Splinter and was a bit meta/4th-wall breaky. They were talking about how the Turtles had moved away from New York, for some reason not well explained in the dream. Apparently, it was just so that the new show would be in a different setting (which it isn't IRL). Strangely, they didn't seem to know where it was exactly that the Turtles had moved to, and they were speculating places like Dallas or San Fransisco and such. Go figure. Splinter mused that he was glad that they hadn't moved to some generically named sewer and April responded with something along the lines of "Yeah, something that could be easily retconned as having been in New York all along." So, it seems, Splinter and April were glad to see the Turtles gone, I guess? >_>;

So now, the dream scene-switched to the Turtles themselves. Right off, I should say that both Raphael and Donatello were speaking with the exact same voice (Raphael's old voice). It was very weird. They were all riding some new hovering devices that kind of looked like Segways but without the wheels attached. Or maybe like the hoverboards those kids were riding in Back to the Future II. Anyway, they were riding around in the sewers (naturally), but somehow ended up at the top of a dam (shades of the NES game I guess). Instead of going off to defuse bombs or whatever, though, they decided to just try to ride their new hover-Segways down the overflow stream from the dam, with Donatello reassuring them that the things worked perfectly well underwater. And... that's about it. That's where the dream ended.

As for the new cartoon... well... I can't really judge since I haven't actually seen it, but I can say that I'm not really a fan of the new rapping intro theme. ¬_¬ The 3D animation looks... interesting enough... but I think I'll reserve judgement on that as well until I've had a chance to actually watch an episode or two. (Though I can't help but think that they look like they're made out of felt, for some strange reason.) That said, it will probably be a long while before I ever get around to doing that. I haven't even watched more than a couple eps of the 2003 cartoon either, for that matter.

So, uh, yeah... hadn't heard of thisthis until now. It is apparently trying to be Slender Man: The Movie, more or less. (Found out about it via TvTropes, naturally.)

But then, that's not the first project claiming to be such*, so I'm not really sure what to make of it.

* - Or, I don't know, maybe it actually is the first, at least of the ones calling themselves "feature length films" anyway. By that I mean that it's clearly not the first by any stretch of the imagination, unless you just don't count Marble Hornets or EverymanHYBRID or Tribe Twelve or Dark Harvest or any of the dozens of other vlogs, blogs, and whatever else that exist already (only a very, very tiny fraction of which I actually follow myself).

Apparently, Space Jam theme mashups are a much bigger Thing™ than I thought. Sort of like that whole Guile's Theme Goes With Everything meme.

Below are my top three favorites, at least so far anyway. I haven't really listened to many of the others that are linked above yet, though, so I may soon have some more to go with the below.

I have to plug this one since my name is in the credits. Oh, and it's also a pretty good game, too. If you have Steam, and you have $5 to burn, consider supporting the former Westwood guys. Honestly, I'd say the game is still worth it even at what is now the "full" price of $20.

LOL WUT.

Rainbow Dash is not a unicorn. That's all I have to say about that (here, anyway, as I did all my ranting on this over on Twitter).

(EDIT)

I'll just edit to add that I think the whole thing kind of reminds me of this. I.e. even if they had gotten actual bronies on the show and not clearly under-coached actors, and even if said bronies had tried their absolute best to not seem like slimy creepers*, the Springer show would have still found a way to present them in the worst possible light.

* - And by "creeper" in this case, of course, I mean this rather than the Minecraft thing.

(EDIT 2)

To go off on a tangent here, I have to give Donny Deutsch at least some credit... as much as I may dislike him, he's still several orders of magnitude better than Jerry Springer.

...or is he? On the other hand, Jerry Springer at least doesn't really pretend to be anything other than what he is, i.e. the host of an incredibly trashy talk show. Deutsch, on the other hand, pretends to be legit.

So, in the end, I honestly can't say which of the two is worse.

But I digress...
