I like that, even though Pat and Woolie seem pretty cautiously excited about Street Fighter 6 overall, they still completely take the piss out of every little bit that is known about it at this time in the above video. I particularly agree with Woolie when he said that Capcom needs to not release an incomplete product like they did with Street Fighter 5, but then, that's like saying I agree with someone who says that humans need to breathe air to continue living.

As someone who played the original arcade version of Street Fighter/Fighting Street (both with the pressure sensitive punch buttons and later with the more normal controller buttons) a couple times when I was 8-10 years old, and who then played the everloving shit out of Street Fighter 2 for years when it came out, both in the arcade and then on the SNES and whatever later console versions I got my hands on, and who then played a lot of the Alpha games, mostly on the PS1 and in the PS2 collection things, and who then played Street Fighter 3 maybe once in an arcade and then a fair bit in one of the PS2 collection things, and who then played quite a bit of Street Fighter 4 when it first came out on XBox 360 (almost 14 years ago WTF has it really been that long already?), and who then, to this day, has still only played a grand total of 21 minutes of Ultra Street Fighter 4 when I rebought it for cheap on Steam, and who then pretty much gave near to zero shits at all about any version of Street Fighter 5, I can safely say that my interest in Street Fighter 6 right now is close to nil. Especially if they're going to be catering more to the MMA crowd with it, because I have no interest whatsoever in MMA.

"Hi. Today we consult the moose brain to see what we can do about seemingly unsolvable problems that maybe do actually have a simple solution."

(Dreamwidth wouldn't let me fit the closing quotation mark in the subject line, so it looks a bit weird, at least to me.)

Pros:
  • On Steam
  • Is not infected with Denuvo
  • Already getting good word-of-mouth hype from people whose opinions I respect

Cons:
  • Costs $60 at launch and there is almost assuredly DLC coming at some point, too.
  • Pretty sure my comp doesn't meet minimum spec
  • I own Dark Souls 1, 2, & 3 on Steam and yet have only played most of the way through 1 but didn't beat it. Not that that actually matters as far as Elden Ring is concerned, since they're not related, but still, I'd kind of want to play through those first, regardless. (I'd play Demon's Souls and Bloodborne, too, if those were available on PC, but they're not, so oh well.)

Verdict:
  • Probably going to get it, eventually, but going to hold off on buying it for now, at least until it's on sale, but more likely until after I finally break down and buy/build a new comp at some point in the distant, nebulous future. Either that or I'll get it whenever I buy a console capable of playing it, in the possibly even more distant, even more nebulous future.

"Last year, I did a series of videos of me playing me 3-year-old daughter's Mario Maker 2 levels. Now she's 4 and has designed some more stages for me to play, so let's see how they turned out and if I can actually complete them!"

Glad these videos are back again.
