Yeah... no, I never truly believed that Telltale Games had really "come back," despite all the claims that it had indeed "come back," after the first time it went away.

Honestly, though, and speaking more generally, with all this recent news of layoffs and closures (seriously, if I had a dime for every article I've seen recently in my Google News app with the almost verbatim phrase "is the latest studio to face layoffs this year" in the headline, I'd probably have almost a dollar by now), well... I don't want to get too awfully optimistic here, and this may just be a big string of random coincidences, but... this could, maybe, be the early days of the big modern video game industry crash I've been predicting and for which I've been sorely hoping, for at least the past 5-10 years or so now. Remains to be seen, I guess. *fingers crossed* ¬_¬

Or... this could just be all part of the seemingly annual series of ridiculous ups and downs of the modern video game industry, and nothing else of any worth or value will come of any of it, beyond that, same as usual. *shrug*

Yeah, this is ancient news by Internet standards at this point, I guess. Still, it's just a reminder that the glorious digital future is neither glorious nor the future.

This doesn't affect me directly, because I never had either a 3DS (released in 2011) or a Wii U (released in 2012), and at this point I never will. However, this does make my interest in possibly owning any other current or future Nintendo consoles at some point, such as the Switch, continue to greatly wane, because the Switch (released in 2017) itself will become similarly "vintage" by these standards in probably less than a decade, too.
