I was all set to post a bunch of youtube videos here with the music from Minecraft, but looks like I only have to post this one (make sure annotations are on):

(I'm sure that's not the first video to use annotations like that, but that's certainly a neat way to make a kind of "table of contents" thing for multiple videos.)

*weary sigh* Thanks to Youtube doing away with annotations, I'm back to hunting down and embedding each individual video again. Thanks a bunch for that, Youtube, you stupid fucks. >_<

Do you have Minecraft? I've been messing around with it and started up a server called Threepwoods (I have a thing for naming my electronic devices after characters in Tim Shaefer games. My server is Chronojohn :D)

Anywho, the last patch seems to have screwed up my server in that everyone connects to it with extreme lag. I find the game terribly boring by myself, but the multiplayer server stuff with friends has been amazing. I'm hoping the server update, whenever that hits, fixes the issue because I was just getting into the game.

I'd prefer single player over a standard multiplayer server personally, if just to avoid all the griefers. The only kind of multiplayer I'd be interested in would be a closed one that only let myself a couple of friends on.

But the problem with that would be you'll need to be pretty comfortable with fighting mobs as apparently mobs spawn a lot more in multiplayer. Watching Coe's livestream of his little server that's for him and his friends showed this to be the case. Nothing quite like seeing a sea of 20+ creepers near your base. ;)

Putting the server on peaceful would not be a solution however. The big fun factor for me is doing your building, harvesting, exploration, etc under the ever present chance you're going to be jumped by a spider/creeper/otherbaddy.

And yeah, I wouldn't participate in a multiplayer server where people can just do the various load commands to get whatever they want. You might as well just play creative at that point.

On the other hand, I do play creative single player now and then since it's the only version I can currently run on the current computer. I load it up now and then just to get a feeling for the controls.
