I like Fable well enough (bugs and all), but I'm honestly not quite sure what to make of this exactly... (EDIT) Had to replace the video because the one I'd originally embedded has since been removed. (/EDIT)

For one thing, as I've said before, I don't have a Kinect yet, and I'm not sure if this is what will convince me to finally get one. Second, I'm not sure I dig the whole "on-rails" aspect (and, unlike the whole hullabaloo about Metroid: Other M, this actually does appear to be a game that is "on-rails"). The spell-casting stuff looks pretty interesting, and kind of reminds me a bit of that PS3 Move game Sorcery (which I have heard pretty much nothing at all about since last year's E3). But one of the big things about the Fable games was the ability to just go wherever you wanted and explore and such. Granted, the exploration aspect was never as deep as, say, a Metroidvania or Elder Scrolls or whatever, but it was there. This seems to take all of that away.

(EDIT) As I mention in a later post and as Peter Molyneux says in the new video I embedded above, apparently the "on-rails" stuff was just for the press demo and won't actually be in the final game, which is something of a relief, I guess. (/EDIT)

Eh, I'll wait for some more info before I make a final decision on this one, but as of right now, it's looking like a pass. If I ever do get a Kinect later, for whatever reason, then, sure, I'd probably end up getting this too along with it. I just don't think this is the Kinect's killer app, though. Maybe for some people, but not for me.

For that matter, neither is this...

Sure, it looks cool and all, but... :/
